This does not directly apply to this discussion but it may touch on prophecy. I was just watching a program about the death of Alexander the Great on the History Channel. The program went into the account of the cause of Alexander’s death—whether it was caused by poisoning or not. One thing that caught my attention was a brief mention that Alexander was planning on conquering Arabia.
If Alexander had conquered Arabia, the muslim religion might not have come into being because mohammed could not have grown his cult in a land that would have been part of a strong empire. Mohammed’s cult grew because he lived in a tribal lawless society. He was able to pick off one tribe at a time and to force the conquered tribe to become part of his army, enabling him to grow a huge army in a short period of time. This could not have happened if Arabia had been conquered by a civilized power such as the Greeks who would have instituted laws and government. Mohammed’s cult would have been squashed early on and islam would never have gained power.
That is really interesting.Did you know that Alexander the great was the subject of many of Daniel’s prophecies?
