Actually, when people hear an orthodox and upright preaching of the Gospel, they flock to that church, for that is what they want to hear.

We are building a new church because our Masses are overflowing.

I have personally seen it both ways.

When orthodox preaching starts in a formally liberal congregation, the first result is lower attendance and anger.

Then, as people start to learn about it, they start to grow.

But I have seen many a good pastor driven out because they made a big donor mad. He started to attract more people, but he preached an antiabortion sermon and was attacked by a family who gave a lot of money to the church.

He left, I left, and a lot of others did also.

Church must preach what God says not what people want to hear

Correct - and here is exactly what God says:

Take heed and listen to what God exactly says in the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit delivery to be recorded:

Acts 26:17: Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee [Christ talking to Paul]

Galatians 2:6: But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

Galatians 2:7: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

Galatians 2:8: (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

Galatians 2:9: And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

The top verse in Acts 26 has the following context verses to show exactly what God says to use Gentiles / heathens / non-Jewish people - saved or not saved:

Acts 26:12: Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

Acts 26:13: At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

Acts 26:14: And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Acts 26:15: And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

Acts 26:16: But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

Acts 26:17: Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee [Paul]

Take heed and listen to what God exactly says in the above Scriptures that the Holy Spirit delivery to be recorded - the exact Words of God on these matter are final.

No one can deny that God said these words, and God expects us believer-saints to follow all what God Himself has says to us, not pick and choose what the Church or any person thinks God says: but exactly what God says as recorded in Acts 9, 22, 26, Galatians 2, Romans thru Philimon; Genesis thru Revelation.
