IMO, we are at most a few lifetimes away from truly analyzing the brain, figuring out the mechanics behind a learning processor and recreating it for our own purposes. The creation would be machines that can learn, seamlessly interact with humans, improve themselves, build/replicate themselves, etc. The machines may even be of organic makeup and may even someday be more intelligent than humans in every way.
That would be our ultimate imitation of the Creator's power to “give life”. However, such technology can easily become self perpetuating faster than we can control. It can destroy all of us or even forcibly enslave us in a mechanized nanny world - “The Beast”.
It would be another “Tower of Babel” type moment for humanity.
So she can *really* smack the teenage boys who try to grope her.
The fact is, the technology is in place right now to make this happen and now this technology is being introduced into the everyday lives of people. At the same time, all of the other prophecies that Christ gave for His return are either being fulfilled, or the stage is being set for them to be fulfilled.
These things that we see beginning to come to pass are events that will find their fulfillment during the time of the Tribulation. This all means that the return of Christ for His bride can happen any second, and His literal, physical return is also within view.
People who dismiss and reject Scripture can attempt all manner of ways to try to discard what is happening and ridicule and deny reality but none of that will stop what God ordained will occur on this earth before His return. The time for salvation is rapidly coming to a close and when it is over, it's over.
Man has an eternal soul that goes to one of two places. God, in His mercy and grace, has given man, through His Word, the details of the events that will happen during the Tribulation so that man can come to Him for salvation before it is too late.
Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. (John 14:29)
We have been told what will happen before this present age comes to a close. The wise person will believe what God has said, and not foolishly deride what Christ has so compassionately let us in on.
I believe in the Bible. I believe in Revelation. I believe in God, and Jesus. However, I think technology has a bit further to go before it can fool the people. She obviously is a computer generated image on a surface. When they are able to create a holographic-type image with density that people could mistake for a real person, then I’d agree with you that the technology exists. (Think Star Wars with Leia’s recorded message, but real-life size and no obvious projection, interference or transparency.)
Again, I agree with you that we’re getting close, but that technology isn’t quite perfected yet. I think robots and AI is a possibility as well. However, it’s still extremely challenging for people to make something “real” that humans can’t tell is NOT human...
And, if the issue is fooling people into believing that the image (if it turns out to be a hologram) is a human, well, take a look:

The fact is, the Bible only says that there will be an "image" made that will have the ability to speak. We are given no other details, and we are not told that the world will have to be fooled into believing that the image is a real human.
The fact is, that we have the technology on more than one level in this generation to fulfill that prophecy.
We have the ability to make Revelation 13:15 come to pass just as it was written. We don't have to wait one more day for anything to get "better". We can make it happen right now.

JC Penney's has made some decisions of late which are far from acceptable for a retailer which counted on 'family' business.
In fact, the whole 'gay' thing has the retailer reeling since March, and their stock has fallen by more than half in the same time period. A lot of people are voting with their feet, and spending their dollars elsewhere.
We had already had quality issues with a couple of their products, and the new spokespeople and ad campaign was the final straw, although it would have been enough by itself. They will likely not survive under current management.
I do agree, however, that while the storm is not yet upon us, the clouds are building in the distance, the wind which blows, blows ill, and the degeneration of humanity persists.
While many indicators are present, not all are, nor do I think (despite the garbage which goes on and its increasing boldness) we are as bad yet as things were in Noah's time, although absent a reversal it is just a matter of time. (Realize that God then only saved a handful of people of all present.)
I watch, I pray, I wait, and try to steer those in my family in the direction of our Lord.

I understand where you’re coming from. Thanks for the links. I have in my head a POV that people wouldn’t worship something they think is some computer animated, or AI technology. However, I do remember the story of Moses in the desert, and the Golden Calf, so you may be right on the mark. (no pun intended...).
I also see that from John’s vantage point - having no understanding of computer imagery, AI, robots, or otherwise might be why it is rather vague. Back when the Gulf Oil spill occurred, and seeing how red the water looked, and how it was killing the fish it reminded me of the scripture referring to the seas turning to blood... I do think we have to keep in mind that these words are coming to us from a person who was not familiar at all with our modern world, and his description of what God showed him would have to be related in words he and his peers WOULD be able to understand.
Anyway, thanks for the discussion. It’s always good to keep reminding oneself to be awake and alert... As always, our individual deaths could happen at any time at all, so the admonition to be prepared, and at peace with God still applies - whether we are a day, or a decade away from the end of all.

If you haven’t checked this out, you might find this series from Pastor Billy Crone interesting. In “Modern Technology Part 2” he talks a lot about the holographic technology with accompanying video, and that in Japan they actually are working on touchable holograms. It’s very interesting.
His site is www.getalifemedia.com. And the series is called “The Final Countdown—the Ultimate Edition. He is currently teaching this series at his church, and is now on “The Rise of Falsehood”; this particular section has 7 parts. IIRC, he just finished Part 4.
