That Thing Can Change

You may be going through a tough time at the moment, but let me start out telling you that thing can change. Every trouble, sickness, and problem has the same ability to line up with the word of God. But, the question is how do I make it line up with the word of God. God says in Isaiah 43:18,19 to do not remember the former things and don't consider the things of old (don't meditate on your problem). He says He will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, he will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. It may look like there's no way out of your situation, but a way can be made. How does God make anything, with his words. Notice in Isaiah 42:9 he says that new things I do declare, before they spring forth I tell you of them. Notice God tells you of them before they come because he wants you to put his word in your mouth.

When you put his word in your mouth and speak it out of a believing heart things change. When you put his word in your mouth the word will make a way. Isn't that what God told Joshua he told him to don't let the word depart out of his mouth, but meditate on it day and night and he(by the word) would make his way prosperous (Joshua 1:8). And he told Jeremiah, "I have put my words in thy mouth". Why, "For I will hasten my word to perform it" (Jeremiah 1:9,12). That word hasten means- to be on the lookout, watch for. Notice he was watching for the word out of Jeremiah's mouth. Because that's what He does, "I create the fruit of the lips" (Isaiah 57:19). When you put his word in your mouth it will not return to him void, but it will accomplish that which he pleases (Isaiah 55:11).

Isaiah 44:26 ( That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: ).

Please tell me this isn’t more of Norman Vincent Peale’s shamanistic “Power of Positive Thinking” preaching ‘cause it sounds an awful lot like it.

See #4. You need to know the source of this “sermon”.

We are what we say. Are we putting God and his Word first? Good post. Vis a vis Peale I used to listen to those LPs as a little boy. I credit Peale with giving me (a Jew) the strength to give my 6th grade bully (French Catholic school) two black eyes and a bloody lip. He never hurt me, or anyone else, again, and we became good friends. He too needed to find an inner strength through God’s word.

Thanks. Probably the two most important words in the Bible are “But God . . .”

Yes my lady... And let me tell ya it's pretty hard to recite "get right up there on top of things! Be a winner!" over and over again when a big fat smelly bacon-fed farmer's boy twice your size is kneeling on your neck against a rock and pounding his mitten fists into your muddy face.

One wonders how we grow up to become Second Amendment advocates!

Thank the Lord for boyhood.

Are you telling me that because some sacred cow is being slaughtered?

Wow, you finally responded to me.

philman_36 did you ever think that he got his teachings from the Bible.

No. He got his teachings from Ernest Holmes and his Science of Mind/New Thought teachings, not the Bible.

Or did you not know that?

And before him was Phineas Parkhurst QuimbyIn 1838, Quimby began studying Mesmerism after attending a lecture by Doctor Collyer and soon began further experimentation with the help of Lucius Burkmar, who could fall into a trance and diagnose illnesses. Quimby again saw the mental and placebo effect of the mind over the body when medicines prescribed by Burkmar, with no physical value, cured patients of diseases. From the conclusions of these studies, Phineas Quimby developed theories of mentally aided healing and opened an office in Portland, Maine in 1859. Among the students and patients who joined his studies and helped him to commit his teachings to writing were Warren Felt Evans, Annetta Seabury Dresser and Julious Dresser, the founders of New Thought as a named movement, and Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Christian Science movement.

Mesmerism

The mesmerism technique was introduced by the Austrian physician Franz Anton Mesmer (1733-1815). It was stated to be a healing technique based on the idea of animal magnetism.

It pays to know the basis of such teachings.
