Police Start Inquiry at Parents' Request After Madonna's Concert in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, August 14, Interfax - Police in St. Petersburg have launched an inquiry into local parents' claims that the law banning homosexual propaganda was violated during Madonna's concert on August 9, the city police told Interfax.

Madonna gave a concert in St. Petersburg on August 9 as part of her world tour. Before the concert she asked the audience to raise their hands with pink bracelets in support of sexual minorities.

The singer said she was fighting for the right to be free, that she had travelled across the world seeing that people are becoming increasingly intolerant and that the situation can be changed by love, not cruelty.

Activists of the Parents' Control organization turned to police after the concert and demanded that Madonna be prosecuted for violating the city law banning homosexual propaganda.

The parents and other activists attached photos and video as evidence of homosexual propaganda even though there were minors in the audience, the press service of the author of the law on gay propaganda, deputy of the local legislature Vitaly Milonov, told Interfax on Friday.

Activists want to sue Madonna, not the organizers, the press service said.

How delicious it would be for American-hating Madonna to end up in a Russian jail.

Where are all the ‘Yankee go home!’ signs that better American spokespersons than Madonna (Queen of the Skanks) saw everytime they left the US?

No Madonna. People aren’t becoming more intolerant. People have just been pushed too far by those who take every opportunity to push the ‘anything goes’ lifestyle and get in the faces of those who live average middle of the road lifestyles. Most of us could care less what other people do in their personal lives, as long as it doesn’t involve hurting others - including the unborn.

We have a young woman from Belarus staying with us for the summer. We have known her for 10 years. She may be living in an oppressive country but they are very moral in some ways, no sex ed in the schools and no tolerance of gays at all.

Kudos to the Russians for taking action on this piece of offal.

She is a total disgrace and has corrupted many a young American with her ridiculous socio-political philosphies. Sending her to Siberia for life would do the entire world a service by isolating a malignant virus.

I hope someone in the Russian government is reading these messages. Please clean up this piece of garbage America has been unwilling to deal with.

While they are at it, maybe they take care of Lady Gag-Gag for us.

I don’t what they expected at a Madonna concert. There should be letters for concerts just like movies. Her concert would be rated XX.

“she had travelled across the world seeing that people are becoming increasingly intolerant”

Maybe because you and your fellow perverts are shoving something intolerable down our throats?

raise their hands with pink bracelets in support of sexual minorities

Since there are only two sexes, there can be at most only one sexual minority. That would be men, who're but slightly outnumbered by women.

Oh there’s a very long list of acts the Russians should take care of, starting with the boy bands.
