4. Image: Given what we have said, the primary location of God’s wrath is not in God, it is in us. Perhaps the best definition I have heard of God’s wrath is this: God’s wrath is our experience of the total incompatibility of our sinful state before the Holiness of God. Sin and God’s holiness just don’t mix. They can’t keep company.

This is a totally unbiblical and incorrect definition of God's wrath. His own set of proof texts refutes his conclusions.

God's wrath is the manifestation of His anger at sin. "The Lord is a jealous God and avenges; the Lord avenges and is full of wrath; the Lord takes vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear the guilty. . . . Who can stand before His indignation? and who can abide the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by Him. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knows them that put their trust in Him. But . . . He . . . will pursue His enemies into darkness." (Nahum 1:2-8).

God's wrath is as much an attribute of God as love is.

The tongues of fire on the Day of Pentecost had nothing to do with God's wrath. It was a symbol of the coming of the Holy Spirit imparting to the disciples the ability to speak in unlearned languages.

Is the Wrath of God like the Wrath of 0bama?

Here we go!

My own feeble attempt to define the Wrath of God sort of connects the Law and God. When God created all that is, God set everything in motion according to certain laws. There are laws of physics as well as Spiritual Laws. You are right when you say that God has not and does not change. Everything that causes us to experience the Wrath of God is brought about by our own breaking of the Spiritual Laws. The number one law is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” When we break our covenant with God, we break the power to overcome evil and we suffer the Wrath. It is the same as suffering the results of ignoring the law of gravity. The outcome is not good.

The wrath of God for this country just may be Zero-Obama...

America elected the poster boy of everything negative that pesters america..
I won’t go into a long list of negative factors... I might miss a few..

America has murdered(sacrificed) multiplied millions of their children(abortion) like the Amalikites.. who boiled their first born in hot oil.. as infants.. Thats why “the God” of the old testament instructed the Jews to kill them all eliminating their nasty culture of death and child abuse.. And thats just one thing the culture of the Amalikites did... there were more nasty things..

It looks very much to me like America is being judged BY ZERO-OBAMA..
When “the People” become corrupt they elect corrupt representatives..

Yeah!.. America is being judged by Zero-Obama.. and Michele.. and Holder.. and Biden.. and hundreds of other nasty cultural degenerates... The whole White House and Joint Chiefs are nasty individuals.. OR they wouldn’t be there..

America is definitely being judged..
You know......... YOU ARE BEING JUDGED.. (if you’re an American}..

The wrath of God can be seen to be the LACK of Godly men in the Givernment..
or colleges.. or media companys.. or churches.. or in businesses.. or in Unions.. or Newspapers.. or Magazines.. or democrat part.. or republican party.. or libertarian party.. or socialist party.. or communist party.. or the Police, Firefighters or Teachers organizations..

Are you suggesting that one manifestation of God's wrath is to be found in the consequences ensuing from behavior?

Axiomatic . . . don't you think?

Thank you so much for the ping, dear YHAOS, and thank you for sharing your insights, dear hosepipe!

I perceive that America is suffering payback right now for its Godlessness of the last half century.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. - Gal 6:7

For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up. - Hosea 8:7

But all that we have experienced by now could simply be the correction a rebellious child might expect from his Father, i.e. tough love.

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? - Hebrews 12:6-7

The wrath of God promised in the end of days will be much, much more painful than anything we've seen or could imagine.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. - Rev 19:11-16

Maranatha, Jesus!!!

I guess I am saying that.. You mess with the bull you get the horns..
When young I used to beat my head against proverbial walls..
I was amazed how good it felt when I stopped doing that..

It seems quite literally virtually all the problems I’ve had stem from things I should have done or things I should have NOT done.. Course like many I blamed my problems on someone else..

My life got quite good when I stopped doing that as well..
OK not completely.... I’m not too smart you see..

Dear Girl;

I suppose you and Dear Boopy are the closest things I have to a pastor... Your message is quite good.. I see it as a message of hope and redemption... It fed me metaphorically..

This planet especially the United States needs a message of hope and redemption.. call it a “dream catcher”... You can always be counted on to provide salient scripture to any situation... I like dreams..

I have a few dream catchers of my own you might be interested in... Jesus said to the deciples Unless you become as a little child you will not even see “heaven”... Children can speak with no guile with innocent motives..

Well that's not fair, using scripture to set the truth straight...

I perceive that America is suffering payback right now for its Godlessness of the last half century.

It's getting to be an old saw with me, but: Whenever you take a shot at God, it is MAN who takes the bullet, every time.

The "God is dead" movement is effectively the "man is dead" movement.

The slaughter of millions of innocent pre-born humans, the tortured redefinition of marriage in order to accommodate the basest of human inclinations, etc., etc., will bring its own "reward." And we will not like that "reward" at all.

But divine Justice will always prevail.

What really bothers me is that it is a very tiny yet disproportionately vocal minority of Americans which is setting up the coming disaster. The rest of us are just letting them get away with it.

And as you write, dearest sister in Christ, "The wrath of God promised in the end of days will be much, much more painful than anything we've seen or could imagine."

It seems the entire West is on fire. And vast areas of the East under flood waters. Are we already in the End Times?

If so, then Maranatha, Jesus!!!!

Well and truly said, dearest sister in Christ!

What really bothers me is that it is a very tiny yet disproportionately vocal minority of Americans which is setting up the coming disaster. The rest of us are just letting them get away with it.

Either complacency or fear by the majority got us where we are today.

Fear is sin, among the worst in my view because it says that God cannot be trusted.

Either way, we have been and will be held to account.

God's Name is I AM.

And that, my dearest sister in Christ, is an AMAZING insight.

And oh, so very, very True!!!

For He is the very Source of our being, the very Source of the Truth that permeates US and all His Creation....

One must be very blind and deaf, indeed, not to notice these facts.

Thank you ever so much for your sublime insight!!!

I guess I am saying that..” (that one manifestation of God’s wrath is to be found in the consequences ensuing from behavior . . . Axiomatic . . .)

I don’t wish to overthink this . . . or impute to you an agreement that does not exist. So let me be clear:
God’s wrath cannot be compared, in any way, with a murderous glare from 0bama, accompanied by an extended middle finger rubbing the side of his (0bama’s) nose. The term “wrath” reflects generally the inadequacies of the human attempt to define God. God cannot be anthropomorphized. Words (in any language) describing God are no more than an approximation, and a rather distant approximation at that.

Some people do not understand this, and consequently cast themselves into a profound state of confusion. Other people understand this dynamic perfectly well, but in their rebellion against any authority greater than their own, use it to cast others into that same state of confusion (sometimes called “muddying the waters”).

"I'm not too smart you see.."

Smarter than me, I betcha.

Thanks for your response . . . always welcome

And, thanks AG and boop for including me in your thoughts.

AMEN! to that, dear brother in Christ. AMEN!!!!

There is no human language capable of exhaustively "describing" God. Any attempt to so describe Him only defaces, deforms Him....

There is no capacity of the human mind even to approach God as He IS in Himself....

Thank you ever so much, dear brother in Christ, for your sublime observations here!

It appears to me that Gods wrath is misnamed.. for
God only has to let man’s cultures degenerate on their own..
God must do nothing.. for that to happen..

Like the Jews started out gloriously only to degrade to the Talmud.. as it is today..
If God does anything he may redeem.. no need of wrath..

Humans can make a soup sandwich out most anything they try.. especially givernment..
Not to speak of religion.. and science..
