There is a difference between being opposed to spewing toxins into the air and water (toxins, not the gas all plant life directly and animal life indirectly has sustained itself on for the past billion years or so, aka CO2) and bowing at the pagan altar of Gaia. One of the more infuriating aspects of the AGW hoax is the damage it does to legitimate concern over the damage we can do to our environment.

It also diverts attention (I believe intentionally) from the fact that for the past hundred years the most egregious examples of careless destruction of the environment have been committed under the Communist regimes of China and the former Soviet Union.
