Billy Graham Meets With Romney; Impressed by His Values
Christian Post ^ | 10/11/2012 | By Audrey Barrick

Evangelist Billy Graham commended Mitt Romney for his values and moral convictions after meeting with the GOP presidential candidate at his North Carolina home on Thursday.

"What impresses me even more than Governor Romney's successful career are his values and strong moral convictions," Graham said in a statement. "I appreciate his faithful commitment to his impressive family, particularly his wife Ann of 43 years and his five married sons."

Graham, 93, said he was friends with Romney's late father, former Michigan Governor George Romney, and has followed the younger Romney's career.

The beloved evangelist, who has preached the Gospel to more people in live audiences than anyone else in history, prayed with Romney, a Mormon.

"It was a privilege to pray with Governor Romney – for his family and our country," he stated.

"I will turn 94 the day after the upcoming election, and I believe America is at a crossroads. I hope millions of Americans will join me in praying for our nation and to vote for candidates who will support the biblical definition of marriage, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms."

Graham has been described as the "pastor to presidents" as he has been a friend to every U.S. president since Harry Truman. He met with President Obama in 2010 and prayed with him. Graham also gave Obama two Bibles.

Is the driver a guy or girl?

I haven't used a forklift to see what's under the fat flap but guessing from the lack of fur around it's face, it has to be a female.

Well .. I’m a Christian .. but I’m not Anti-Mormon.

A true Christian can't be anti-Mormon but a true Christian must be anti-Mormonism. Just like a true Christian, can't be anti-Muslim but a true Christian must be anti-Islam. As Paul tells us, our battles are not against flesh and blood (the deceived believers in a false religion) but against powers and principalities (the false religion which leads astray).

To be Anti-Mormon, you have to believe the Mormons are a cult. Not possible. If you think they are, then you need to study a little harder and find out what a real CULT is .. and it’s NOT Mormon.

Perhaps, it is you who needs to spend more time studying cults. The word "cult" has a specific meaning with theologians, very few of whom would hold that Mormonism is not a cult. Some cults are more threatening and controlling than others. All cults will present a false gospel and will cost you your soul.

To say that Romney’s Mormon faith is going to change the other faiths of this nation (or the world) is just IGNORANT.

It is ignorant to suggest that isn't the stated goal of Mormonism. I strongly doubt that Romney's election would bring that goal about, even if he made that his primary goal in office.

I’ve never been to a Morman church - because you have to be a member to go there.

You don't have to be a member to go to a Mormon church - they welcome visitors. You have to be a member to go to a Mormon temple - not only a member but a temple-recommend-holding member. I'm sure that you just forgot that one of the signs of a cult is secret ceremonies accessible to only the initiated.

Thanks for being judge and jury regarding whether I can be Christian and Anti-Mormon.

Couldn’t have continued another day without this lecture.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm just repeating what the Apostle Paul stated in Ephesians 6:12.

Couldn’t have continued another day without this lecture.

My, look at the kettle call the pot black. When you give a schoolmarmish lecture, particularly one filled with factual errors and faulty logic, you shouldn't be surprised when it is challenged.

Politically, Graham is a registered member of the Democratic Party.[35] He leaned Republican during the presidency of Richard Nixon.[17] He did not completely ally himself with the religious right, saying that Jesus did not have a political party.[7] He has not openly endorsed political candidates, but he has given his support to some over the years.[17] In 2012, Graham threw his support to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.[36] Shortly thereafter, Graham’s website was scrubbed of a statement Graham made calling Mormonism a cult.[37]

“Ephesians 6:12” ..?????

What does that scripture have to do with a Christian accepting a Mormon ..??

You’re preaching to the wrong person.

Since you’re insisting on beating me with the Word (incorrectly used) .. I’d rather not particiate; especially since your scripture reference does not relate to your screed.

Good bye!!!!
