Catholic bishops: Biden’s debate remark on contraception mandate not true

America’s Catholic bishops have a problem with Vice President Joe Biden’s claim that religious institutions won’t be required to pay for insurance coverage that includes contraception, sterilization and drugs that may cause abortion.

They say it isn’t true.

"With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear,” Biden said during his debate with Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan on Thursday. “No religious institution -- Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown Hospital, Mercy Hospital, any hospital -- none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact."

The U.S. Conference of Bishops disagreed, and issued a letter on Friday taking issue with Biden’s position. “This is not a fact,” the letter states. “The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain ‘religious employers.’ ”

The list of things that Uncle Bimboy has said that are true would be a very short list.

As George Costanza famously said...”It’s not a lie, if YOU believe it!”

And the Obamaites really do believe this fiction they’ve created that the Insurance Company will eat the cost (yeah....right!) lets the Church off the hook.

It's not, but the problem with the libs is that they know they are lying and are proud of it. They get their jollies by lying because they know that so many stupid people believe their crap.

Not gonna happen — in 2004 Bush won 52% of the Catholic vote, in 2008 the winner got 54%. This time the number will be less than 50%. Of course I agree that that is too high — any number greater than 0% voting for 0 is too high.

Oh, come on?!? Do you seriously think that Bozo will increase his proportion of the Catholic vote by 6% over 2008? I'm not convinced he'll do that in any demographic, except maybe Muslims.

Bozo will be fortunate if he gets 40% of the "Catholic" vote. Among real Catholics (you know, the kind who actually attend a Catholic church on a regular basis) he's certainly looking at a defeat by landslide proportions.

among Church-going, I’d be disappointed if he gets more than 5% of the votes and I’d check how many names are in the funeral lists...
