From the Bible:
Numbers 16:3 And when they had stood up against Moses and Aaron, they said : Let it be enough for you, that all the multitude consisteth of holy ones, and the Lord is among them : Why lift you up yourselves above the people of the Lord ?
He sounds more like Core and his crowd who claimed each person was their own highest authority in all things.
What God thinks of that heresy is here:
Numbers 16:33 And they went down alive into hell, the ground closing upon them, and they perished from among the people.
The fact that the Bishops in this country don't keep this guy and others like him out of universities shows just how corrosive and corrupting the culture in this country is.
The state this country is in makes you wonder how the majority of the people in this country have the gall to call themselves Christian. Even a lot of those who talk a good game go along to get along rather than confronting the decadence atheist media manipulators and fascist democrat politicians have been forcing into society for the past eighty years.
He’s “out of reach” on that campus because
a) he is a Diocesan priest of Hartford who has been pontificating from Indiana for decades, so not answerable to anyone but himself,
b) he’s at Notre Dame, who welcomed Obama with a red carpet, and supports him,
c) we’ll see, but I think the recently appointed Bishop of Fort Wayne, IN, even though he is reputed to be orthodox, certainly will not be able to change McBrien and Notre Dame.
I think the Church’s only option (and I’ve thought this for a while) is that they have to take radical action (like they are doing with the feminist sisters) and just tell them “Shape up or ship out” - if you want to be Catholic you can’t be “katholic” (sounds the same, but it ain’t).
Just to let you know, there are devout Christians who do live in this country, but you have to remember, sadly, a lot of these devout Christians do live in FEAR or simply just do not KNOW where to start.
Also this stuff has been going on for decades. Sucessful clean-up cannot be done overnight.
With this year being the year of faith, I do have a lot of hope that change for the better will take place.
