Why Obama is the *Antichrist*

Elsewhere in the Bible we are told Israel (Daniel's people) are given 1260 days:

Eph. 5:23-32 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives must submit to your husbands in everything.

The picture of marriage expands into something much broader, with the husband and wife relationship illustrating the relationship between Christ and the church. Husbands are urged to lay down their lives in sacrificial love and protection.

I truly empathize with your believing Obama is the Anti-Christ. You could be right. But, remember, if you say that God has told you that Obama is the Anti-Christ - you are, in essence, claiming to speak for God as a prophet. The Bible says that anyone who claims to be a prophet and says they have a special message from God, and that message turns out to be incorrect, even if it was meant with all sincerity, that person, according to Deuteronomy 18:20-22 is to be put to death at worst, ignored at best:

“But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”

With that sober warning, are you sure you want to come on a public forum and claim to speak in God’s Name, just like a prophet, and proclaim that You know who the Anti-Christ is?? Because if you are, you fall under the warning given by God to Moses regarding false prophets. Is that what you want to do?? Are you that sure of yourself??

From the description in Revelation and in Paul the Apostle’s letters in Thessalonians, it is clear that there will be no doubt to all believers who the Anti-Christ is. There will be no conjecture or claim. When we see a leading ruler go into a rebuilt Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, and proclaim Himself to be God, then we will know that is the Anti-Christ, as it says in 2 Thessalonians 2:

“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come (Jesus’s second coming) unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.”

As bad as Obama is, he hasn’t done this yet - there is no rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem yet. If you try to spiritualize the Temple as being the individual body of a Believer, which is sometimes called the Temple of God and therefore we shouldn’t commit sexual immorality - this doesn’t hold water because the Anti-Christ is NOT a believer and his body would not be a “Temple” in any way.

My only point is, remember the warning of God to anyone who presumes to speak some prophetic word from Him - you better be careful what you say because if you speak for God, and He really didn’t do so, you are under His judgement.

I think if you make it clear that your conviction about Obama being the Anti-Christ is your opinion, based on your view of specific passages of Scripture, and that you could be incorrect, then I think you stand on firmer ground scripturally.

Once you say, “God told me this, or He led me to say this”, you’ve moved from objective Scripture support to completely “subjective” feelings. The New Testament tells us to test all things, but when someone claims a message from God based on something that none of us can substantiate - because it is your personal subjective experience, then we can’t test it with Scripture. That’s what concerns me.

But, if you keep it at the “I think” this is who Obama is, and you back it up with scriptural references, scripture references that we can verify or disqualify through study and sound Biblical teaching, then you are on more solid ground.

He could lose the election and then head for the UN. We are constantly reminded how “the world” loves him.

He set up the political system and power structure for the antichrist in the Middle East by taking out dictators and putting the Muslim Brotherhood in power. They are committed to taking out Israel.

Israel is more likely to agree to an unrealistic peace and safety agreement with the UN given it is surrounded by modern armies led by the MB.

He’s also geared our government to be on the side of the MB and has even officially classifed Christians, pro-lifers, patriots, and anti-UN people as the real terrorists. In the US it is conservatives who constantly derail the global taxation and power agenda. He’s weakened the US socially and economically. He’s pitted brother against brother with liberal racism.

He’s ordered Christians to involve themselves in the conduct of homosexuality, birth control and abortion. He debases women. He oversaw the first platform that banned God. He’s a sodomite. His health care bill involves electronic chips for centralized data collection although I don’t think it requires them to be implanted yet.

If he’s not THE antichrist, he sure has pushed along the agenda as best he could.

The biblical seven-year finale is based on Daniel’s seventieth week for the full restoration of Israel to God’s purpose. During this time God will allow Satan and Antichrist to set up a world government (or alliance) and monetary system to control people.

When believers go through times of tribulation they often wonder if they are living in the last days. The believers in Thessalonica wondered this and if they may have missed out on the rapture or misunderstood when it would happen in relation to the day of the Lord. Paul wrote to clarify that the day of the Lord had not arrived. They had not missed the rapture and correctly expected to be taken out before the day of the Lord occurred. Paul explained that before the day of the Lord occurred the Antichrist would be revealed by setting up his throne in the Jerusalem temple and proclaim himself to be God. This makes sense in context of Daniel’s writing of the 70th week in that it begins with a treaty to protect Israel for seven years. He will break the treaty after three and a half years which is when he defiles the temple.

Paul explained that this event not having occurred was proof the day of the Lord had not come. It comes after the abomination of desolation and at the end of the great tribulation. It therefore must be the final time period of the seven years - perhaps the last year.

Keep in mind that Christ offered additional signs besides the tribulation / persecution / betrayal associated with the fifth seal of Revelation and the abomination of desolation done by Antichrist. The first sign is the rising of many antichrists and false prophets, coming in Jesus’ name. The seven-year treaty itself, assuming the treaty is not done in secret, could be part of this first sign. This period is associated with a false peace. Second, there will be wars and rumors of war. Third, there will be famine. Fourth, there will be massive numbers who die from disease and natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. Fifth, as mentioned before, there will be tribulation, betrayal and persecution. Sixth, there will be signs in the sky including the sun turning dark and the moon blood red. (This signifies the end of the great tribulation and that the day of the Lord is imminent.) Christ’s return is the seventh sign which signifies the end of the world has arrived. This time will be the last part of Daniel’s seventieth week. It is the day of the Lord. It is a day of wrath to the world. It is the day of Christ and day of salvation to believers because we will be taken out, and God will pour out His fiery judgments on those who remain (with the exception of the Israelites who remain who will then believe in Jesus as Messiah).

One other identifier of the Antichrist is that he will impose the mark of the beast in order for anyone in the world to buy or sell. When we see these signs we will be able to identify the Antichrist but not before. Hitler was certainly an antichrist who was trying to destroy God’s people. But he did not fulfill all of the prophecies. Obama qualifies in some ways. He also verbally identifies with Jesus but rejects His authority and commandments. It is too soon to identify Antichrist. When a treaty is signed we will has a strong clue. When he sets himself up as God in the Jerusalem temple (soon to be rebuilt) he will be revealed (this is the biblical standard of his revelation) and we will know with certainty.

However, it is more important to be both expectantly ready and patiently waiting for the return of Christ than to be watching for Antichrist. Antichrist, the son of doom, will come at his appointed time, but he will be stopped, defeated and cast into the lake of fire when Christ returns to set up his kingdom. That is Who we are waiting for.
