three crimes of his, he would have to stay in purgatory until the end of time

Gosh, I wonder which three ...

Some historians are more positive about Simon de Montford.

There’s nothing braver than attacking a dead nun who spent most of her life working with the poor and the destitute/sarc.

If you were penniless with sores on your body on the street who would help you more than the other? Mother Teresa or Christopher Hitchens. Hmmmmmm . Maybe the one known for helping others than the one making fun of the one helping others. My faith is in the helper. Thank you very much.

I doubt it has any good points if it wants to state that Mother Teresa was ‘a lying, thieving Albanian dwarf.’”..

two of the reasons the rich critics attack Mother Teresa:
1. They don't realize that her primary mission was to spread the Word of Christ. Everything else was devoted to that aim. The poor were helped for the greater glory of God -- for them to feel the love of Christ. Spiritual "medicine" was primary, secondary was physical
2. They don't realize that just giving people medicine without love does not help them. I know a nun who works at "Mother Teresa's roses" -- they do something that may perplex us and this rich folks -- they offer the poor street dwellers a place to have a nice warm bath, with soap and everything and clean clothes. We may think "oh, what's the big deal" but to these beggars and street-dwellers it means a lot, it makes them feel human, not animals...

The retired Bishop of my diocese was a long-time friend and confessor to Mother Teresa. He said when he first visited the Home for Dying Destitutes, a man was brought in who was dying of leprosy and had been partially eaten by rats. Mother Teresa asked him to give the man a blessing, which he did, and then said, “Now, please give him a bath.” Bishop Curlin says he replied, “Can’t I give someone else a blessing, Mother?” (he’s quite a pistol at 85), and she said, “It’s Jesus. You’re going to serve Jesus by washing him.”
