Lord,
You brought us through
So many wars
Not serving ourselves
But, serving others
The starving masses
The under classes
The chaff of rogues
Who did not bother
To serve their needs
But, took their strength
Their lives, their wills
Chained them up
And fed them swill
But, You were there
To give them grace,
Those who knew
Your warm embrace
You gave them back
The will to live
The strength of honor
And to forgive
But, those who died
Died in Your Name
Through Heaven’s Gate
They humbly came
For serving others
Is serving You
May we remember
In all we do
Amen!!
Beautiful, beautiful poem, wizr. It is so good to have you contributing your God-given gift with us again!
