This is an excellent point. Repeatedly in scripture God talks about how our sin having consequences toward our environment. I vaguely recall a specific case where God was so angry with the sin of the people that He cast them into exile just so the land could have rest from their wickedness. This is God's pastorial care for His creation and our reckless abuse of nature. Though they knew God, they did not honor Him. We honor Him by respecting His creation and how He made us.
Today we live in a world where there is no where to go from homosexuality. Not only is homosexuality and sexual immorality spreading in the US, but it is very prominent in just about every country in the world. This is far different than the Roman Empire where there were places to go. Today the land cannot rest from our wickedness.
But the land will have rest soon. God will act as He frequently done in the past. Time is coming to a close. Homosexuality is the dead canary in the mine.
IMHO, Islam and liberalism aren’t the significant threat. It’s Satanism and the numbers of fallen angels closer to our daily lives is much greater than we or our forefathers have experienced.
Homosexuality is simply a very strong indicator in our situation, where those spiritual forces of darkness reside. It is significantly more evil than simply a volition to practice sexual immorality.
I was exposed to spiritual warfare this past weekend within a group of friends whom we’ve known for about 10-20 years. In the past over 70% were believers, though of different denominations. In the past 5 years, about 30% have passed away (believers), another 20% have drifted away to other interests. Our get-togethers now tend to be 30% believer and 20% gay(? unsure) (in the closet) and the remaining secular.
This year, the believers were attacked in private (criminally, individually) and later targeted for other grief by those who in the past had been friendly.
I really tend to believe it is spiritual warfare related more than personal desire related. It almost makes more sense to identify the homosexuals as being demon possessed and orchestrating influence, while those who were apostate are those succumbing to criminal temptations at the orchestration of the homosexuals. It’s bizarre behavior, but I’m perceiving it in numerous environments.
