Governments have almost unlimited power but they dont have unlimited authority. British author, G. K. Chesterton, had lunch with Alexander Woollcott at a London restaurant discussing various issues ending with the difference between authority and power. Chesterton opined, "If a rhinoceros were to enter this restaurant now, there is no denying he would have great power here. But I should be the first to rise and assure him that he had no authority whatever."
I affirm that the U.S. has great power but its authority is limited. Obama needs to be taught that lesson which seems to have escaped him in his Muslim school. But then, Muslims dont believe in separation of church/mosque and state. They believe that the mosque is over the state! Christians know the church is not over the stateGod is! However, neither Obama, nor the U.S. Supreme Court, nor Congress, even with 100% vote, has authority over the church of the living God. We will see if some major Christian leaders have the courage to teach Obama and other tyrants that lesson.
James Madison wrote, There is not a shadow of right in the general government to intermeddle with religion. Its least interference with it would be a most flagrant usurpation. The First Amendment forbids any interference in religion. Congress shall make no law. What is it about the word no that Obama and his lackeys dont understand? No still means no. And any entity of government trying to force religious institutions or religious people to march to its music is a rape of the Bill of Rights.
It is commendable that some religious colleges, seminaries, hospitals, etc., are fighting ObamaCare in the courts, and they may win; however, what will they do if the end result is that they must obey the court to provide abortion for their employees? If those religious leaders have any biblical convictions, they will tell the courts and the government that they have no choice but to disobey. That means a one million dollar plus fine per day which they cannot pay and should not pay even if they had unlimited funds. Refusing to obey a court order means their doors will be closed and their leaders imprisoned for contempt of court. And, of course, they would be guilty of contempt! What else could one expect? Catholics have gone on record that they will not obey the law; what about Protestant and Baptist leaders? It is one thing to fight an issue in court, and another thing to say, We will not bend or bow and are willing to burn if necessary, but we will not obey the law to facilitate the killing of innocent babies.
Many of those religious leaders will finally capitulate to the evil command of Obama, and will plead their defense on what they call, biblical grounds. But they will have to twist the Bible like a pretzel to justify their cowardice. Some will decide that life does not begin at conception so abortion in the early months is not killing a baby; it is more like removing a mole, wart, or tumor. Sounds almost noble! You can justify anything if you play with it long enough.
Others will tell us that while they believe it is wrong, they must obey the government as the Bible teaches in Romans, chapter 13. Other pragmatic leaders will say, Look, I dont like it but if the government puts us out of business and some of us go to jail, then we will not be able to continue our ministry. After all, one has to be practical. No, one does not have to be practical. One has to do right, not what is practical, profitable, or pleasing. Moreover, if the college and seminary presidents go to prison, they can have a new ministry with an abundance of people who need to hear the Gospel message. Those college presidents can write their autobiographies titled, From President to Prison: To God be the Glory! Now, that is noble.
Algernon Sidney in 1683 was beheaded by King Charles II for declaring that there is no divine right of kings to rule over a nation. He said that no man had a right to rule unless he had the consent of the people. He was right. Obama thinks he is a king when he is only a court jester.
Sitting Bull surrendered at Fort Buford in July of 1881 and declared, "I wish to be remembered that I was the last man of my tribe to surrender my rifle, and this day have given it to you." There is a time to do that, but not when it comes to Christian principles and obedience to God. I will not be the first or the last to surrender my rifle (of obedience to God).
The fight goes on and good people will be going to prison to satisfy the Marxist doctrine of a tin-pot dictator in the Oval Office.

How are the Baptist hospitals standing ? How are the Lutheran hospitals standing ? How are the Methodist hospitals standing ? How are the Adventist hospitals standing ?
We mean, how are they standing on these same issues ???
Our government was designed to be one of LIMITED and ENUMERATED power.
That is ignored, and is a problem, but legally, our federal government is limited in powers.

Dr. Boys is using the word "authority" as to mean "power" as per Art. 1, Sec 8.
In his title, Dr. Boys is using the word "power" as the physical ability and machinery to enforce its will, legitimately or illegitimately, as in guns, armament, soldiers, policemen, etc. ; the teeth, used rightly or wrongly.
Oddly, you seem to post ONLY material from this “Dr.” Boys.

Does he pay you to promote his stuff or does he provide you with other things of value?
Are you a blogpimp or a child molester?
I just take it that Dr. Boys' articles have gotten under your skin.
Thanks for posting.
You can take it the Brer Boys seems to be paying you to promote his crap.
If some one in an official capacity with Free Republic were to question me on this, I would answer them. But since you seek only to impugn my character, I have no concern at all what anything seems or doesn’t seem to you.
Sorry- wrong. There are but 13 ENUMERATED powers in the Constitution. Woe to us when we allow government to break the chains of those powers, like when its leaders say it is just “common sense” to infringe and abridge a right that “shall not be infringed”.
Whence the Tenth Amendment? Sadly, it has been exiled. In fact the issue of the Constitution in Exile has not only been the subject of a few books but during his confirmation hearing, none other than Senator Biden (D., DE) asked John Roberts if he believed the Constitution had been “exiled”. It clearly has but it is certainly is politically incorrect to even hint that the Constitution we have today is the same one ratified over 200 years ago. Senator Biden and his party have been so faithful to protect it and to guard every right it enumerates. </sarc>
“There are those who would slash the power of our national government, fragmenting it among the states in a new reading of the 10th and 11th amendment.
Incredibly, some even argue, as you well know — people won’t believe this — but some are arguing today, in this constitutional exile group, who argue that the national government has no power to deal with what’s going on in the Gulf at this moment.
Judge, I don’t believe the Constitution — I don’t believe in a constitution where individuals could, for very long, have accomplished what we did had we read it in such a narrow way.
Like the founders, I believe our Constitution is as big and as grand and as great as its people. Our constitutional journey did not stop with women being barred from being lawyers, with 10-year-olds working in coal mines or black kids forced in different schools than white kids just because the Constitution — in the Constitution, nowhere does it mention sex discrimination, child labor, segregation. It doesn’t mention it.
Our constitutional journey did not stop then and it must not stop now, Judge. ...”

Welcome on behalf of the American Constitution Society. And
thank you to our co-sponsor, the Center for American Progress, and particularly Mark Agrast from the Center, who has been an indispensable partner in planning not just this
event but many others, and we are deeply appreciative. Also particularly, thank you to our distinguished group of panelists. I have to tell you as Ive traveled around the
country in the last two weeks speaking to ACS chapters, I keep being asked about the ideas in Jeff Rosens article about the Constitution in Exile. I think as all of you know, it was the front-page story in The New York Times Magazine just over two weeks ago now. This is an incredible opportunity for us to continue the conversation that was begun in that article and then also to actually have the opportunity to ask questions of experts on the topic. The talk of the town both inside and outside the Beltway today is all about judicial nominations. And when theres a great deal of attention on ideology because of the critical role that it is playing in which judges are nominated and confirmed, its absolutely essential that we understand what that ideology is. And a certain number of the nominees pending today are said to support the Constitution in Exile. This panel today is going to help us understand exactly what that means for both their jurisprudence and the future of American law and policy.

You only post from this single source.
Why is that, do you think?
Looking for hits? Working a business model?
perhaps you will have to figure out whether those dead British authors are paying me as well.
It has been sufficiently demonstrated that you are a blogpimp.
I'm satisfied with that.
My mother taught me many years ago not to argue with an idiot. She said they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!
Thank you, goodtomato, encouraging believers in days like ours is our desire.
This thread is posted in the Religion Forum. The main guideline here is to “discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.”
My bad. Took a wrong turn at Bloggers and stumbled into a part of town I don’t usually frequent.
