I always liked Liberace. Grew up watching him on TV, playing the piano with such a natural ease it still amazes me. Just last week I pulled up some YouTubes of Liberace just so my son could see how a born entertainer could dazzle on the piano. Liberace was obviously gay, but really, nobody cared. He kept his own business his own business and was certainly no stinking activist whose goal was simply to stick a thumb in the eye of normal people. Liberace just loved to entertain. His joy of life was contagious. That was a great summary, he was a joy, and introduced many kids and other people to good music and real entertainment.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Liberace’s famous remark. He was often criticized for being too effeminate, and so forth. When he was asked if this kind of talk hurt his feelings, replied indeed, it hurt him very much, in fact, he cried about it all the way to the bank.

He was a sinner in need of a savior. So if he was confessed and believed in Christ on his death bed he is with God. We are all sinners. Oscar Wilde confessed on his death bed too.
