Why is it so hard to believe things occurred in the early life of the Church and Christianity that aren’t recorded in Scripture? Scripture itself says that all the sayings and deeds of even Jesus aren’t recorded. (John 21:25). Why would anyone think His Mother’s life (and “death”) would be recorded in exact detail if even Jesus’ deeds couldn’t all be recorded?

It seems to me it’s rejecting an entire portion of the deposit of Faith to ignore teachings that aren’t in the Bible, simply because they aren’t in the Bible. It’s like saying the other things Jesus did that aren’t written in Scripture aren’t important. The things JESUS did, aren’t important, JUST because they aren’t in the Bible.

Ponderous man, just ponderous.

There is the point...That which was recorded provides sufficiently for us to have faith and understand our role in God’s purposes.
Would what is unrecorded be very different from the Scriptures? Or would it would act as a further witness to what we do have?

The question is not whether the things unrecorded were important or not but whether they are necessary to us and why if these unrecorded events are necessary to us why the holy spirit skipped over them.

Human tradition has tried to fill in what God chose to leave unrecorded and hence the false gospels and frauds like the infancy stories of Jesus.

A lack of faith in God and His Word has caused false doctrines like the assumption of fleshly bodies into heaven even tho the Scriptures inspired by God say otherwise, to be accepted as truth, dogma, yea, “infallible dogma” because it fits a structure willing to murder to preserve its self. Just as the Pharisees were willing to kill Jesus and Lazarus lest, “the Romans take away our place and our nation”.

Ponderous in deed.

Two things, at least...If we can't find it in the scriptures, there's no evidence to prove that the teaching came from God...And the bible says to prove all things...The only way to prove all things is to have a standard from which to prove things...The bible, the words of God obviously have to be that standard...

And when we can read simple scripture that says 'all have sinned', we know that all have sinned, including Mary...

All have sinned except Mary is a contradiction to God's word...Your religion would have us ignore God's word and instead believe your religion has something called the 'deposit of faith' and is infallible when it comes to things like this Mary assumption thing when there is zero evidence from God's word...

Far too many of your religion's traditions are contrary to the words of God...

you are arguing with a Jehovah’s Witness, so they won’t believe in the Trinity or the divinity of Christ either — that’s sola scriptura to them...
