The eternal state of someone’s soul is determined at death, and not before. This is the teaching of the Catholic Church and, therefore, the teaching of Jesus.
Unless you know with certainty the day and hour of your death, it is wise to live as if you could be facing the Lord at any time. I think that was the point that CHRISTIAN DIARIST was trying to make; at the time Lance made that statement his soul was heading for hell. Can he repent and get God's forgiveness? Of course he can. Our God is the God of second, and third, and fourth... chances. But Lance needs to turn to the Lord and accept Him as the Lord of his life. Until he does so, and the interview suggests that he hasn't done it yet, he is heading to hell indeed. Rather than argue, we should pray for him.
