Dog Turns up to Dead Owner's Church Every Day

Two months after his owner died, a dog in Italy keeps turning up each day at the church she used to attend.

Ciccio, a 12-year-old German shepherd, waits in vain in front of the altar of the Santa Maria Assunta church in the village of San Donaci in the southern region of Puglia.

He heads to the church as soon as the bells begin to ring each afternoon, just as he did for years when his owner was alive.

The woman, who was known in local dialect as "Maria tu lu campu" - "Maria of the fields" – died suddenly in November.

Ciccio attended the funeral, following his mistress's coffin as it was carried into the church.

FAITHFUL Animal. God makes them tend to be this way. Too bad man isn't as loyal and true as our canines.

Thank the LORD for the gift of dogs. We are to take good care of our animals and our children, and our family.
There are many that mistreat and abuse all the above. It is tragic behavior and without excuse. I know it is usually the result of a person being mistreated as a child their self. People with dark hearts aren't having it written on their forehead. Pay attention ... there are clues along the way.

As I recall, the priest of this church is fond of dogs, and his had died recently, which was why he allowed the dog to continue coming into mass every day.

The answer is staring them all in the face. The dog needs somebody. Somebody needs a dog. They’ve been brought together.

as per the article, the parish community as a whole has adopted the dog, giving him a place to stay and food and water.
