No Pope is going to alter the traditions and doctrine of the Catholic Church.
Of course; if these people can change the Church, they become self-justified in their insane behaviors.
Pope JP II and Benedict put heavy duty conservatives in the college of cardinals.

I know this post was probably half tongue in cheek, but here’s why it seems fairly unliklely apart from the Bible, Natural Law, and reason:
The Catholic Church doesn’t accept civil divorce and remarriage as possible. Even now.
I think the Church would change this before the accept ‘gay marriage.’ I don’t think there is any group of Christians that think ‘gay marriage’ is possible now that didn’t also think civil divorce and remarriage was possible before.
