Didn't see anything in there that was particularly 'Mormon bashing' ~ more like a documentation of what has gone on before that can explain the coming revelation that gays are all wise, all knowing, all good ~ and you must step aside for them if on a sidewalk, or whatever.
More seriously, what are Mormons going to do when the church ratchets up their official esteem for the gays?
Will they leave their church in droves leaving behind nothing but the church property and treasury? Or, will they continue to bow down to whatever diktat pops up

Here’s a radical idea: Pick a church YOU like, and go there. Let your neighbors pick churches THEY like, and let them go there.
I think that concept is embedded in some old document this country used to pay attention to.

I don’t understand the cries of “Mormon bashing” on this conservative Christian site. Mormonism is false doctrine any way you look at it, so why the problems with making that known, and possibly giving someone the information they need to leave it, or not to join in the first place?
The article makes some good points. The Mormon family on that show, “Sister Wives” supports sodomite marriage. When a religion teaches false things about the very nature of God, anything can follow.

Putting all of this together, the Mormon man-god Elohim emerged (created himself) out of eternally existing matter much like the ancient Egyptian's self-created Sun-God Ra. That is a rather odd conclusion to come to, especially since she already discussed something rather different here:
Mormon scripture states that he is merely a physical, exalted man.
She also misses this from "The Family - A Proclamation to the World":
Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.
That sort of makes her points that Mormon theology is genderless or gender-neutral a strained one.
Not that it really changes what drives her ultimate conclusion.

Spirited: Yes of course people are free to choose to worship a man as god, Gaia, the devil, mystical matter and genes or nothing at all. However, ideas really do have consequences and the founding generation understood this harsh reality. Thus while people were free to worship ‘whatever,’ they were not allowed to hold office in our Christian-based society for the reason that they would interpret our Constitution, Rule of Law, and personal liberties through whatever worldview lens they wore.
But like the ancient Greeks and their pantheon of deities, we have in effect set up one of our own, and in our madness allowed occult pantheist Gaia-worshippers and witches, authoritarian Muslims, worshippers of man-gods, the libidinously decadent and so forth to hold office and interpret law, etc. through their worldview lens.
Your idea only has merit within the larger context of this nation’s founding worldview.

When a religion teaches false things about the very nature of God, anything can follow.Funny thing; I never see that philosophy applied to Southern Baptists on this board. Only Mormons. Why is that?

I don’t think you understand the concept of evangelism.
Let’s put it this way. Say a group came to your door and told you that Obama was a conservative and he wanted to cut taxes while shrinking the deficit. They told you that Obama cut the number of people on Welfare and increased defense spending to make the country safer. Then they asked for your support.
Now you could say “I’d say thank you and close the door”. But what about your neighbors? Are you going to remain silent while this group spreads that information?
You see the most criticism for Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses. Why? Because they knock on your door.

"Mormon church wants more compassion for gays"
Mormon leaders unveiled a new website Thursday encouraging church members to be compassionate in discussions about homosexuality.
Church officials insist they haven't changed the Mormon teaching that marriage is only between a man and a woman and that same-sex relationships are sinful.
However, the website includes an appeal to gay and lesbian Mormons to stay in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
-SNIP-
"We must not judge anyone for the feelings they experience," church authorities wrote, saying homosexuality "should not be viewed as a disease or illness."
The website does not use the words "gay" or "lesbian," the terms preferred by the gay community.
-SNIP-
Many gay Mormons say they have been rejected by their families and have left the church.

I predict that within 20 years nearly all of Chrisendom will bow down to the homo’s, and that Islam will continue to spread because of it actually stands up to evil.

Amazing. btw, my reaction was based solely upon the high volume of threads on this board impugning Mormonism. As far as your characterization of me goes, I prefer to keep an open mind about things instead of allowing hostility to poison my bias.

LOL, you’re comparing Southern Baptists to Mormonism? Really?
Are Southern Baptists teaching that God was once a human and that He physically impregnated Mary? (That’s so blasphemous I hate to type it). Or that Jesus and Satan are brothers? Or that Baptists will become little gods when they die and inherit their own planets?
