My aunt was a nun....and a pure communist.

I too had aunts who were nuns. While not Communists, they were charitably described by other family members as being "a little loopy". In reality it was a bit worse than that (so much so that my mother was forced to conclude that a lifetime of celibacy has severe detrimental effects upon the average female brain)

Communism actually works for that kind of community, who have subjugated their needs to the needs of all. But the cloister is not the real world, nor is the university or the rectory.
