The Roman Catholics are doing just fine with American membership. They are growing at a slow rate. Now you look at churches like the Presbyterian Church USA or the United Church of Christ. They are quickly losing members. And somehow, the media is saying the Catholics should be more like the Presbyterian Church USA?

The media wants them to be like them and lose membership and influence. Nothing new. The devil is still at work.

Simple. The media want the Catholic Church to be more like the presbyterian church for the same reasons they want the republicans to be more like the democrats.

Well, do note that the Catholic Church has 22 rites (or Churches) only one of which is the Latin (called Roman by some) Church -- the Maronite, Chaldean Catholic, Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara etc. are, if anything, growing at a faster clip and also within Latin Catholicism, the most orthodox parishes are growing faster than the "feel good" types -- dogma of course remains the same, just that the former emphasise the strictness, the challenge of being Christian more

The media are saying Catholics should follow the ECUSA -- the PCUSA etc. are not liberal enough for the media....
