It is LONG past time for such a statement to be made.
You cannot be a Christian, participating in the Lord’s Table, and promote abortion and homosexuality.
Perhaps you can help the new pope out by compiling a list of dignitaries from around the world who will be in attendance at the installation mass next and who you deem as unworthy to partake in the Eucharist. You should be able to accomplish that in 4 days.
The Pope has many more people at his command to do that research. Besides, the chances of my having any input to him are near zero.
But anybody who’s been paying attention knows that the entire 0bamao administration is pro-homo and pro-abortion in the extreme, and spiritual needs of his flock. that includes Plugs Biden.
And it is every pastor’s due diligence to watch for the
Allowing pro-homo-pro-aborts like Plugs to take Communion sends a message. Is that the message we should be getting from the spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics?
There was something in an AP story that he stopped by the hotel to pay the bill.
Very humble. May we all emulate him.
God bless Pope Francis I!
Pope John XXIII has been beatified. We now need to call him Blessed Pope John XXIII.
**He hasn't yet told us why but one presumes it's after Saint Francis who was born in Assisi**
Spending money? Like when he wants to go to the mall and hang out? What a silly question.
Indeed. And far be it from me to presume anything beyond what the Vatican’s own website might consider... :-)
However, NYer has some excellent evidence that it is St. Francis of Assisi.
I understand that popes never buy anything, or deal with money at all.
The vatican admin deals with all that.
It has been reported with confirmation he was clear in saying ‘Francis’ is for the Francis of Assisi.
(I just have been browsing around and this is the case reported here and there but I dont remem where.)
That may be, but he is a Jesuit, as was St. Francis Xavier.
I guess I missed that.
He said he chose the name for St. Francis of Assisi, because of his call to 'rebuild the church' and for his poverty.
It was all so very exciting for me yesterday! That was the sixth papal election in my lifetime (yes, I’m that old). I was in Kindergarten when Blessed Pope John XXIII was elected. I remember seeing him on TV wearing that huge 1877 Palatine Tiara. I remember wondering how heavy it was on his head.
Then Venerable Pope Paul VI in 1963 when I was 9. He always looked stern to me, with those eyebrows. :-)
Then, there was the oh so short papacy of Pope John Paul I in 1978 - 33 days! Followed by of course, Blessed Pope John Paul II. Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, and now Pope Francis I.
The Pope is sometimes sent cash gifts by individuals or groups. There is also a Knights of Columbus trust fund which contributes its annual income for the use of the Pope.
It’s known that pretty much all the money the Pope receives goes to charitable works he chooses ... but I suppose if he wanted to get a cup of coffee on the way to St. Mary Major, he could have a few Euros in his pocket from what he’s been given.
Those funds as well as Peter's Pence are used for the Holy Father's personal charities.
Yes.
