I submit for your profit this poem and these songs, for edification and meditation on this Good Friday. Let us remember in this day of ever deepening darkness,that Jesus died for the sins of all men, even those who are currently pushing abominations such as “gay marriage” upon us all. He prayed for them as He suffered and died, “Father forgive them, they know not what they are doing…”- Happy Resurrection weekend everybody-He is risen! Pas Bill

“Jesus of the Scars”

by Edward Shillito a World War 1 Veteran and Free church Minister (1876-1948)

If we have never sought you,

we seek you now;

Your eyes burn through the dark, our only stars;

We must have sight of thorn-marks on your brow,

We must have you, O Jesus of the scars.

The heavens frighten us;

they are too calm;

In all the universe we have no place.

Our wounds are hurting us; where is the balm?

Lord Jesus, by your scars

we know your grace.

If, when the doors are shut,

you then draw near,

Only reveal those bloodied feet and hands .

We know today what wounds are, have no fear;

Show us your scars,

we know you understand

The other gods were strong;

but you were weak;

They rode, but Jesus stumbled to a throne;

But to our wounds only God’s wounds can speak,

And not a god has wounds,

but You alone

He was Despised by Handel

Didn’t He? by Randy Matthews

Thank you, Pastor.

I like to contribute to your viewers my reflection this morning as well.

REFLECTION: Broken for Love

The more one loves, the more one wants to love. He wants us to be with Him totally, so plunge deeply into the sea of loving tenderness, wholly, swiftly. Lose yourself completely in Him. The only feeling left is love and hunger for love. Say to the Lord, “ I want You and I give myself to You.” Move closer to Him, feel His presence, His heartbeat, His touch; no more separation either physical or sensible. Everything in you, all you are made of, will be transformed and made perfect by Love, both grace and strength; you will be able to touch the measureless depth of your being in which you are willing to immerse to taste, to share all, all of His renewed PASSION and His THIRST for love, the thirst at such intimate moments, you shall be more than willing to satisfy. Love is the fullness only in compassion for the Cross. There is no other way, even for a God!

Have most blessed Passion Friday.
