It's very rare that you hear the acknowledgement that homosexuality is objectively disordered out of the mouths of the liberals (a condition that is objectively disordered in this context is a condition that, if acted on, will always be sinful under every single situation. Always).
Liberals also seem to have a hard time with the last sentence in that paragraph, These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. (Fulfilling God's will in their lives would refer to them living chastely)
The whole CCC paragraph reads:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,140 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."141 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
Specific guidance that the Church has given to Her ministers regarding this is:
...Nevertheless, increasing numbers of people today, even within the Church, are bringing enormous pressure to bear on the Church to accept the homosexual condition as though it were not disordered and to condone homosexual activity. Those within the Church who argue in this fashion often have close ties with those with similar views outside it. These latter groups are guided by a vision opposed to the truth about the human person, which is fully disclosed in the mystery of Christ. They reflect, even if not entirely consciously, a materialistic ideology which denies the transcendent nature of the human person as well as the supernatural vocation of every individual.
The Church's ministers must ensure that homosexual persons in their care will not be misled by this point of view, so profoundly opposed to the teaching of the Church. But the risk is great and there are many who seek to create confusion regarding the Church's position, and then to use that confusion to their own advantage.

May God have mercy on this Jesuit principal.
Get the paint brush - better have the Blood of the Lamb on your door — seems like the Angel of Death will be visiting this nation soon...geez....
I’ve already emailed Fr. Salmon and expressed my outrage concerning this! I didn’t go to McQuaid but my older brother did and Fr. Salmon is allowing a once great secondary educational institution sink into the pit of moral relativity! This Jesuit has a skewed moral compass!
Given the tuition costs on the local Catholic schools that were published recently, I’d be past hopping mad if I were paying that kind of money for the school and church leadership to send me a letter saying they were going to ignore a tenet of the faith. And, yes, I know the public schools are already doing the same in their choices with my tax money.
Jesuits are the masters of wordsmithery and psychobabble.
I was a bit nervous around girls too when I was in school. But sheesh, I didn’t resort to seeking sexual solace with boys. That’s a rather pitiful response.
Isn’t the new pope Jesuit?
If he is, this is all a symbiotic excersize ... imo.
> must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity.
Alcoholics and drug addicts must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity, as well as murderers, child molesters, rapists, thieves, adulterers, and all sinners.
But we MUST NOT encourage them to continue in their sins!!!
***Jesuits are the masters of wordsmithery and psychobabble***
Counted 15 “I’s” in his statement. Just another ego-centric ‘know-it-all’.
Time for Catholics to demand elections and term limits on their clerics. Power corrupts and absolute power.......you know the rest.
.
This is no surprise. Mcquaid Jesuit HS is in the RC Diocese of Rochester which, up until last year, was under Bishop Matthew Clark, a longtime supporter of LGBT community. As the shepherd leads, the sheep follow. He served the diocese for 30+ years. Upon his retirement, Pope Benedict XVI told him to step down. The diocese is temporarily under the direction of the Syracuse Diocese.
Fr. Salmon is NOT contradicting church teaching? How does he justify that statement?
Persuading girls to have sex outside marriage is pretty pathetic, too.
In my opinion, religious schools should discourage even the appearance of “mating” behaviors among their students, insisting that the organization is devoted to education - growth in practical knowledge and active virtue - not to facilitating sin.
Unbelieveable:
This from a Catholic School.
Homosexual Fornication among two young men approved by a priest in the Catholic school system where Nuns taught me I could go to hell for beating my meat.
Catholics sure have changed.
Young people think it’s cool to be queer.
Sadly if hes like almost every priest I ever met,he is probably looking for new recruits. So of course he will support the gay agenda.
Same story...different day...gays are arrogant bullies...
What hope is there for America when even a Catholic school turns their back on God!
Yes, he is...
One of the “firsts” for this Pope...
Wonder why a Jesuit hasn’t been made pope before this...hmmmm.
