I remember a skeptical Catholic gal about 25 years coming up with the idea that Jesus and Peter were just going from stone to stone on barely submerged shoals. And everybody panicked and said "Geez, look at that! They're walking on water!"

Yeah. Trouble with that theory is that Peter, James, John, and Andrew were all professional fishermen with decades of experience who we can assume know the area very well. The Sea of Galilee is actually fairly small: you'd reasonably expect all the old salts to be able to locate shoals, reefs, sandbars, rock-piles, channels, etc. Right?

They were smart. They all knew where stuff was. They weren't a bunch of credulous tourists.

I rest my case :o)
