I don't see much controversial about the biblical doctrine to beware of false teachers who preach false doctrine. It is part of basic Christian theology 101. It is a theme which appears in just about every NT book except Phileamon and is the major theme of Galatians, 1 John and Jude. 2 Timothy also devotes a substantial amount of text to it. You can see in this thread what happens when religious deception in Christianity is brought up....yet you're right...there IS a false Christianity..
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
Their "works" are works of lawlessness. Homosexaul ordinations. Acceptance of sin. Teaching people to break God's commandments...all in the name of love and tolerance...

My great great grandfather was the founder of Whitworth University in Spokane, as well as many Presbyterian churches in the State of Washington. I’m sure he’s rolling in his grave.

"You can see in this thread what happens when religious deception in Christianity is brought up...."
I don't see much in thread at all devoted to the contents of the article. The vitriol seems to be directed to the cult site it came from and, probably, the memory of prior very offbeat things you have posted from it. This article itself is about as vanilla as you can get.

Many = most. Many = almost all. Many = everyone but a very very small and recent sect? Wow. Something was obviously lost in translation! ;) Don't believe the haters about how UCG thinks they are the "only" church...it's a lie. :-)
Rev_12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Like it or not my friend there is a world wide deception happening right now. Islam, liberal Christianity, paganism, humanism...Satan has got the whole world deceived in one way or the other about religion.
Why do you think traditional Christian churches shy away from this subject?

Yup, shoot the messenger mentality. It's much easier than having to face religious deception. :-)

I'm very proud of my church Cronos and I thank you for highlighting it. But you're doing it in a negative pejorative way!Negative way, yes. Pejorative, no. I just stated the facts -- do you believe these are not true:
Your UCG has the following beliefs:
- Christians are begotten as children in the Family of God and will at their resurrection become "spirit-born divine beings who are part of Elohim, the universe-ruling family of God."
- Belief in a non-Trinitarian view of God. Specifically, the belief that the Holy Spirit is the spirit/power of God and of Christ Jesus rather than a separate person in the Godhead. God 'the Father' and Jesus Christ are viewed as distinct 'God beings' in the 'God family'
- Polytheism in the form of the "God Family"

Do you remember the words of Gamaliel when the apostles were brought before the Sandhedrin?
If you do, you would be a member of the denomination (Catholic) that has withstood the test of time and not disappeared.

United Church of God believes God is a "family" composed of only Father and Son, and members in "God's Church" who "endure to the end" will, in the first resurrection, become part of this "God family" (a doctrine HWA copied from the Mormons). At that time, they will rule with Christ as spirit beings ("kings and priests") in the Kingdom ("Government") of God on earth in order to teach mankind "God's way of life" which is to bring worldwide peace
United Church of God teaches that they are the "continuation of the one and only true church of God" (tracing their origins to "the church that Jesus founded in the early first century" and following "the same teachings, doctrines and practices established then.").3 What they actually follow are the teachings, doctrines and practices of Herbert W. Armstrong who founded the Worldwide Church of God in 1934e. They believe they are "God's true church" evidenced by their "obedience to God's Laws" and being a "small flock." Members are admonished to "find out where God is working" and to "finish the Work of God" (which members are to support through their tithes and offerings).

I looked at your link This is United Churh of God.
Thank you for it. It clears indicates that your UCG is deviant from Christianity, particularly in the way it says that the Holy Spirit is not God.

It's truly a wonder how you want to avoid the content of the article and focus on a teeny tiny organization...

Will your church or minister/false prophet fall by the wayside as these churches and false prophets did?
A Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel,
a teacher of the law, respected by all the people,
stood up, ordered the Apostles to be put outside for a short time,
and said to the Sanhedrin, Fellow children of Israel,
be careful what you are about to do to these men.
Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important,
and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed,
and all those who were loyal to him
were disbanded and came to nothing.
After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census.
He also drew people after him,
but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered.
So now I tell you,
have nothing to do with these men, and let them go.
For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin,
it will destroy itself.
But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them;
you may even find yourselves fighting against God.
They were persuaded by him.
After recalling the Apostles, they had them flogged,
ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus,
and dismissed them.
So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin,
rejoicing that they had been found worthy
to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.
And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes,
they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus.

John 6:29 Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
We do good works BECAUSE we are saved, not in order to be saved. Anyone who preaches that good works are going to get them into heaven is a false prophet.
Eph 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.

Mega-Churches. Prosperity preachers. Who says “Give to God and He’ll give you money and jobs and a new car and a new house.....”? A bunch of “preachers” say it all the time!

Mega-Churches. Prosperity preachers. Who says Give to God and Hell give you money and jobs and a new car and a new house.....? A bunch of preachers say it all the time! Exactly!
Christ would be way busy turning out the money changers if he were on earth today.
Not only this but there's an entire segment of commercialism engaged in selling Christianity for profit...
