Vatican Cardinal complains publicly he wasn’t consulted on liberal nuns investigation

ROME, May 8, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Vatican is vigorously denying the existence of a public quarrel between the office in charge of religious orders and the doctrinal watchdog, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. A Joint Communiqué was issued yesterday by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Congregation for Religious, saying there is no disagreement over the way the CDF has handled the Vatican’s investigation and reform attempts of the US nuns’ group, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR).

The hurried denial comes in the wake of a highly unusual statement on May 5th by Brazilian Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz, prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, who told an international gathering of religious sisters that his office had not been consulted about the CDF investigation.

That is probably one reason Benedict stepped down. He had trouble fighting some of the turkeys in his way.

According to the prophecy, Pope Francis I is Peter the Great

The fact that there is a Cardinal (from South America) who is in attack mode, is a good thing, in my opinion.

You can't make scramble eggs without cracking the eggs out of their shells...

It sounds as if Cdl. de Aviz would have preferred (a) milder wording in the CDF report and (b) everything known and approved by him first.

It’s not clear from his garbleized bureau-speak whether he truly supports institutions of pro-abortion, socialist, non-Catholic women calling themselves “nuns,” or whether he’s just in a tiny fussness over the procedures. I’m leaning toward the latter.

It's ecclesiastical bafflegab, is what it is!

Garbleized bureau-speak in a tiny fussness, fershure, Taxie.

Or do you prefer "Chickie"?

:o)

I’m usually called T-c, or TC for those who don’t want to bother with the hyphen.

It’s possible the Cardinal has a Brazilian version of the Content-Free Sentence Generator (invented in North Carolina!), but being a knockoff, it’s imperfect and let a little bit of content in.

I think with that cardinal's title, he did not like having the liberal nonsense of these nuns. But I imagine he is so strongly pro-life that this is just an important factor.

Tuft battle? Probably or most definitely.

But a cardinal whose title puts him over religious nuns, brothers, and priests should be incensed over pro-abortion nuns, brothers, and priests.

There was a Catholic priest who was ex-communicated in South America for coming out in favor of homosexual marriage.

I consider this to be similar to that ex-communication: this cardinal wants to clean house!

Bottom line: if I was responsible for something, I would want to clean house — no matter who else is also cleaning my house...
