Is Pope Francis an exorcist?

The question has been swirling ever since Francis laid his hands Sunday on the head of a young man after celebrating Mass in St. Peter's Square. The young man heaved deeply a half-dozen times, convulsed and shook, and then slumped in his wheelchair as Francis prayed over him.

(snip)

Fueling the speculation is Francis' obsession with the devil, a frequent subject of his homilies.

A friend of mine who watches movies very discerningly, sent me this review of one of his favorite moviemakers, a director I had (frankly) never heard of but one on the list of "Greats", Eric Rohmer.

I ordinarily wouldn't pass on a review about somebody unknown to me, whose work I will probably never see, but you may find this review intriguing --- I sure did --- and there's a place you can leave a "reply" for Shmuel --- the reviewer -- and he would probably be quite tickled if you did.

Which ones are you referring to?

The ones I'm referring to are from @Pontifex. For example,

Is there another account purporting to be the Holy Father?

Thank you!

It’s bookmarked - and it’s also perfect timing. Plan to catch up on reading and a few movies this summer.

Thanks again!

I’m referring to the vile, disgusting, disrespectful tweets TO the Pope. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ah, I see. OK, I thought you were talking about one of the myriad fake accounts.

The comments you three have made have redeemed my faith in the Religion forum - such true Christian spiritual maturity is rarely seen on this forum anymore. Bless you all, and may you continue to store your treasures in Heaven.

Pax vobiscum.

I don’t think you understand Catholic baptism. “Unless you are born again of water and the spirit, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Every Catholic is born again at their baptism of water and the Holy Spirit.

Case closed.

And there will be no Moslems either, Iscool, so go away and leave us Christians to discuss our own belief in Christ, Lord AND God, part of the Trinity here in peace.

“...which of course will include quite a few Catholics...”

Ex-Catholics. There are no denominations on heaven.

Salvation is of the Jews. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Even the ones who don't give their consent to it...I don't think so...There is no case...

"Why don't you pick up a bible sometime..."

Perhaps you can explain this for us.

"John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not stop him; for no one who does a deed of power in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. Whoever is not against us is for us." - Mark 9:38-40

Peace be with you

No need to worry what I think about that verse...You ought to be worrying what your pope thinks about that verse...I posted it in a new thread so you won’t be held in suspense...
