“Jacob (Jews and Christians) came out clutching the heel of Esau (muslims).”

Is that common Christian commentary? Just curious... Jewish commentary is that Jacob is (well, himself...a father of the Jewish people) and Esau is Rome.

I don't know how common it is. I know several Christians that believe that.

I know a couple of Jews that hold similar. I was actually discussing this with them when I was thinking what to type.

Well, they might believe it, but Arabs and Jews/Hebrews are both Semites, and Romans are Italians? Latins? Indo-Europeans?

So as far as Jacob and Esau being brothers, it makes far more sense genetically for Esau to be Arabian.
