Is the RF a church?
I didn’t think so.
Too bad for you.
Still waiting for proof that Heaven is in outer space.
I’ve been away for a bit but this seems a good point to step back into this thread.... .if no one minds?
I personally don’t believe Catholics as a whole dislike Paul, meaning of course what he wrote and therefore taught, even if some individuals might not so when you say:
“What do you mean, I love Paul.” and then quote him. I say ‘Outstanding, excellent!’.
What does Paul mean there as it pertains to the congregations today?
It's kind of hard to believe unless you see it yourself, isn't it?
So where is your heaven??? In your head???
See my previous explanation to metmom, and no I don't have the post number off hand.
But If you can get the Hubble telescope to get us a picture I would love to see it.
Absolutely...Some people don't even know what Christianity is and yet they are arguing against it...
Of the myriads of scriptures that always gets posted, there is never any response...It's all foreign to them...Scripture, what's that???
That’s not an answer to the question.
Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 2:1-10And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christby grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
2 Corinthians 5:4-8 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdenednot that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:50-55 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?
Scripture is nothing in their economy. It’s not the (allegedly) infallible magisterium.
For a Catholic, it’s what the church says that counts. The word of God is subservient to their church so of course it’s of no import.
Further my question has precedence over yours since I asked it first and you have continued to ignore it.
What does that say about you?
Yeah sure you used to be Catholic.
"What MUST we do..."
Wrong - Catholics have no problem with Paul since they, with the Holy Spirit’s help, decided his letters were sacred scripture.
How do you know that???
Latin Fathers[edit]
The first council that accepted the present Catholic canon (the Canon of Trent) may have been the Synod of Hippo Regius in North Africa (393); the acts of this council, however, are lost. A brief summary of the acts was read at and accepted by the Councils of Carthage in 397 and 419.[28] These councils were under the authority of St. Augustine, who regarded the canon as already closed.[29] Pope Damasus I’s Council of Rome in 382, if the Decretum Gelasianum is correctly associated with it, issued a biblical canon identical to that mentioned above,[25] or if not, the list is at least a 6th-century compilation.[30] Likewise, Damasus’ commissioning of the Latin Vulgate edition of the Bible, c. 383, was instrumental in the fixation of the canon in the West.[31] In 405, Pope Innocent I sent a list of the sacred books to a Gallic bishop, Exsuperius of Toulouse. When these bishops and councils spoke on the matter, however, they were not defining something new, but instead “were ratifying what had already become the mind of the Church.”[32] Thus, from the 4th century, there existed unanimity in the West concerning the New Testament canon (as it is today),[33] and by the 5th century the East, with a few exceptions, had come to accept the Book of Revelation and thus had come into harmony on the matter of the New Testament canon.[34]

It really serves no purpose. Like I said, I understand the desperation of the Catholic believers to try to maintain some shred of evidence that Peter was somehow the person the church was built on. It simply isnt true. The body of Christ, the church/assembly of believers, is built on the one true Rock which is not Peter.
