But I do know that Jesus was always on the side of love,”

I have no idea who this Sullivan is but i have to assume he is some college professor or something of that nature.

I can understand some 15 year old kid being confused about what this love is that Jesus talked about because you will here the word love repeated in some of the Churches at least a hundred times in a two hour span but they never seem to get around to explaining it.

So every one hears the word love but the work of love is never explained and certainly never seen.

People who brought in the American dream age knew what love was because they were forever in a position to experience it but now that every thing is at every ones beck and call, Government handouts etc, to hell with it, let the Government do it, that is not love, that is what they think they are getting paid for.

Jesus said to love your neighbor and then told the story about the good Samaritan, love is helping those who need your help, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you, even your enemy.

Hey Sullivan, love has nothing to do with sexual desire.

When Jesus mentioned “Sodom” in speaking of unrepentant towns, I’ve always thought this a very strong implied condemnation of homosexual acts. The liberal revisionists say Jesus was condemning “inhospitality”. To which one should answer: If by hospitality you mean the men wanting to rape the male angels. That the man was willing to give his virgin daughters to the men is an indication of how grave God views the sins they wanted to commit.

According to the Bible, Sodom offended God with many sins:

Ezekiel 16:49
Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.

Jude 1:7
Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

The underlying sin is serving self rather than serving God. People like that rape, bugger, flaunt their luxuries and turn their backs on the poor.

The Latin word "luxuria" actually means both gluttony and lust. Luxury, gluttony and uncontrolled lust usually go hand in hand.

One of the points of the story, too, was that homosexuality was so accepted and widespread that the Sodomites saw nothing wrong with asking for the angels.
