Pope Francis is in no way like Obama. If Pope Francis’s gentleness leads to reunion with the Orthodox Churches, that is great news. In light of what happened this week in the USA vis-à-vis gay marriage, it's clear that the orthodox (small “o”) churches of the world must band together.

Plus also what is going on now in the Middle East with very old Christian communites which date back to the days of the apostles under increasing attack from the radical elements of Islam.

This is a good sign for increase Christian unity.
