I keep forgetting it’s winter in South America now. Cold and rain sounded so foreign to me.

Very nice! And I bet they’re not all young.

I was at WYD (JMJ) in Madrid when BXVI was pope, and I would say that about 30% of the people attending were over 50, and they kept saying they wanted the Church they had known growing up and BXVI was bringing it to them.

I would suspect that it’s the same here in Brazil. Pope Francis is giving them the basic message, not blocked by leftwing garbage, and I bet this will make a profound change.

No disrespect to the Pope, but the strains of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana are now playing in my head.

Can you imagine the head of the world’s Catholics, the Pope, and Manilow, a Jewish singer, in a joint appearance at the Copacabana?

Throw in Carmen Miranda and her hat, just for color.

Now that is a show I’d go to.

Manilow is pro choice. I doubt that he would ever appear with the Pope.

Watching online the replaying of the WYD, Way of the Cross. Seeing Pope Francis in the Popemoble. He truly reaches out to the crowds and in a special way, to children and youth with challenges.

My sister was addicted to that song in highschool. I hated it. Thought it was very uncool.

But now, hey, it’s a catchy tune.

One of the many things wrong with the New Improved Catholic Church. A new religion has evolved over the past 50 years that requires bishops who are with it.
