I'm not a Catholic but the 3 people I respect most in the world (not ascended, figure that's an important qualifier) are Catholics. They are also remarkable Christian role models for all denominations. Given the impact these people all from different parts of the world, I'd simply say that the body of the church is still strong. My advice would be purge the perverts in leadership position in the harshest way possible to send a message of "get out" to anyone who would infect the church with their filth. They can spend their time resolving their condition without inflicting it on others and muddying the water.
