John Paul II Sainthood: Sexual Abuse Victims In Mexico Hope To Halt Pope's Canonization
Latin Times ^ | 7/24/2013 | Megan Taros

The UN Convention On The Rights Of The Child have backed a Mexican sexual abuse victims group that formed in response to the impending canonization of late Pope John Paul II. This is the first time a group has formed to challenge the Vatican when it comes to a person's sainthood. The current Pope Francis will now see a case that gives him a chance to reveal pressing questions about the Catholic Church's history with child sexual abuse. He has until Nov. 1 to come forward with any and all evidence pertinent to the case.

I think you are going to see a lot more of this type behavior from the lefties as you see the spirit of the AntiChrist move across the globe; Obummer will be leading the charge.

There are quite a few posters here who REFUSE to acknowledge that Pope John Paul knew..even though the Secretary for that Money Fund Raising Deviant told the Pope about it.

btw, I believe the Church’s position on this is that he is eligible based on the miracles he performed..not on the totality of his circumstances...

but don’t remember the exact Catholic verbiage.

So in other words, if he performed 10 miracles but molested 100 children he would be eligible...NOT CLAIMING THAT HE WAS A MOLESTER..just explaining the thinking

JPII is being held accountable.

Too bad. Maybe not trying to hide the problem and not sheltering the pedophiles would have been a better solution.

You claim the people here are left wing.
If you have a source that shows their individual political activities post it. or ... YOU are the one making a spurious accusation.

Period

Let me clarify. I hate pedophiles no matter what role they play, politically or otherwise. They should and need to be punished and removed from positions of power if the allegations are true. However the left use dirty tactics to remove obstacles in their path towards their goals of socialism and have a bad habit of accusing without the facts in order to demonIze them and remove them from power Alinsky style. The Church is an enemy of the Socialist Party and they have proven that they will do anything in their power to remove any obstacles from realizing their social utopia including making false allegations and holding demonstrations to further the belief that they are true whether they know them to be or not. Its dirty politics. If the allegations are true remove them from power.

I loved JP2, but it always leaves me somewhat skeptical that the church is always able to find miracles performed by someone they wish to canonize.

You know your diatribe ranks right up there with calling FDR a Holocaust Denier.

God knew in advance and warned through his Prophet Jeremiah of the coming Slaughter of the Innocents, yet God did nothing to save the babies and infants.

Jesus knew and knows that bad things to good people. His teaching is that death, accident, calamity can come to us at anytime, and that we should not obsess with injustice at the expense of praying for our own souls:

Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” [Lk 13:2-5].

I do not believe for a moment that Pope John Paul II condoned the evil that was inside the Church. I believe Pope John Paul II was well aware of the evil that resides inside men, and that he chose to pray for their souls.

You sound like a Holocaust denier.

The fact is that the Secretary of 18 years for one of the most deviant Priests in the Catholic Church in recent years told Pope John Paul II about it and he wouldnt do anything.

The Secretary tried to get an audience with Sodano and was denied.

Nothing was done about this deviant until Pope John Paul died.

You made my point, that you accuse anyone of anything based on nothing.

You do sound like a Holocaust Denier....one who denies something that has a foundation in fact.

That you CHOOSE not to see it is your problem...people like you are the reason that the Catholic Church has been able to get away with this for so long.

Maciel claimed to be CIA. There is an interesting piece of info that Casey donated seven figures to his Church. Hard to find out if that is true.

What is true is that NOTHING happened to Maciel until Pope John Paul died despite REPEATED attempts to have something done...AND the person who would most likely know of his various misdeeds TOLD the Pope..who ignored it.

Like it or not...circumstantial evidence points to the Pope knowing as does the fact that the Secretary says he told the Pope.

You miss the point. I am not saying you deny what happened to the Jews.

I said you are like them....

You deny deny deny that Pope John Paul could have known about Maciel.

He did.

And did nothing about it.

If you don’t believe Moreno or P JP II’s secretary who said that is what Moreno said...then look at the circumstantial evidence that NOTHING happened to Maciel until the Pope was dead.

Even Maciel’s son said Maciel said he would be in trouble once the Pope was dead.

Of course, you probably don’t believe anything ever happened in the Franklin Cover Up....which has an interesting tie to Casey...It would be very interesting to know if Casey did, in fact, give over a million bucks to Maciel’s church.

The left = generic title for those non-conservative and athiest.

The people who were sexually abused within the church, who went to JPII thinking he would stop it if he only knew (much like the Soviets who believed Stalin would set things right if he only knew) are neither of those things.

You are expressing a heartfelt belief that being screwed as a child by an adult makes one an atheist or a non-conservative.

Where did you get this belief?

If you read my other post you will understand what I was referring to if the claims were unfounded and it was being used as a tool to attack religion and the church using deception. If true another situation entirely and he should be removed from his position and punished.

Its hard to understand the intent or true meaning on the Internet. We live in a world that’s been turned upside by deception so naturally cynism / skeptism abound in these forums.

You cast all sorts of dispersions on others, making judgements left and right and assuming the information you've been given is accurate and faithful.

Jesus said "Do not judge, or you too will be judged" (Matthew 7:1).

When there are accusations, when there are emotions and hysteria, a seasoned detective will take down facts from every side and a lawyer will establish context, then motive and intent if any exists.

Detectives know that eye witnesses at a crime scene will remember the crime happened however they want to remember it. Some will mix dreams and fantasy into their reality. So one has to be extra careful not to join a lynch mob and take the accused out to the gallows before justice is served.

Hindsight is 20-20. But ***at the time*** of the crime, and often well after, the facts are not clear and the context is not understood.

Read here about the McMartin child abuse allegations and how innocent lives were ruined amid a 20th century witch hunt:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/ra_mcmar.htm#

***********************************************************
Here's a bit of context of an injustice I witnessed in the 3rd grade of which I was a key player. I sat at a table next to a young boy named Ronny who looked older than he was and who was a genius.

Ronny turned to me and told me to look at where he was pointing his finger. It happened so fast I looked. The natural instinct for someone who is told to look where someone is pointing is to look where they are pointing. Try the old trick on anyone when you put your finger on their chest and say "Look!" and they will look down. It's instinctive to look.

And what did I look at? I looked at where his finger was pointing to his answer to test question number 3. I immediately turned away but not before Ronny raised his hand and called out to the teacher that I had looked at his answer. The teacher suspended me for cheating.

Ronny was a genius, an evil genius. Here was the context, his motive and intention:

Ronny and I were the best spellers and the best artists in the class. We were rivals. He wanted to eliminate me. He nearly succeeded until my father, an attorney intervened.

Ronny was involved with another boy named Eddie and the two of them were caught shoplifting from the local five and dime. I witnessed the shoplifting and told my father who reported it to the school the next day. Both Ronny and Eddy were suspended not because of my father's testimony but because my father got the store manager to call the school and back up that I was not in any way involved in the shoplifting, only Ronny and Eddy were involved. We were all 8 years old at the time so there was no police report filed, the store manager only went so far as to notify the parents.

It was this incident that taught me how words, and lies and stories are made up by evil people with a motive to harm others for selfish reasons and feelings of jealously.

***********************************************************
Now the context on Pope John Paul II:

A man who grew up under and witnessed the evils of the Soviet Union. A man who knew first hand the lies of the leftist press. A man who knew how homosexuals manufacture deceit and project that deceit onto others.

http://www.newoxfordreview.org/note.jsp?did=0610-notes-maciel

Pope Benedict is also directly responsible for initiating the investigation of Legion of Christ founder Fr. Marcial Maciel, followed by a full-scale investigation of the religious order itself. Already disgraced by the time of his death at the age of 87 in 2008, Maciel was accused of sexually abusing young seminarians for decades. Maciel, a conservative Catholic icon, backed by priests under his tutelage, swore up and down that there was no truth to any of the accusations. Legion spokesmen vilified the victims and implied that the investigative journalists covering the scandal were brazen liars, adding that these “attacks” on Fr. Maciel and the Legion of Christ were due to the order's militant orthodoxy and loyalty to the Pope. The Legion mouthpieces all maintained this with a united front even after Pope Benedict ordered Fr. Maciel “to retire to a life of prayer and penance” in 2006.

Since Maciel's death, insurmountable evidence has not only revealed that there was truth to the many allegations of serial homosexual abuse of young seminarians under his care, but it was discovered that the Legion founder sired at least six children with three different women, and that he lived (off and on) in Mexico for twenty-three years under an assumed name with at least one woman, maintaining a “family” with her for decades.

And you should note the key contextual statement at the time of the crime allegation:

Maciel, a conservative Catholic icon, backed by priests under his tutelage, swore up and down that there was no truth to any of the accusations. Legion spokesmen vilified the victims and implied that the investigative journalists covering the scandal were brazen liars, adding that these “attacks” on Fr. Maciel and the Legion of Christ were due to the order's militant orthodoxy and loyalty to the Pope.

Now if I had been there with the Pope knowing that Pope John Paul II had witnessed in his lifetime the brazen lies of the Soviet press, I think I would not rush to judgment. I might support an inquiry made by a local magistrate but I would not advocate the Pope take sides until the evidence was clear, and at this stage it was not clear.

What is clear at this time now, is there are and have been homosexual priests engaging in unspeakable sex acts and it is the responsibility of the Church to excommunicate those priests that have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt of the crime for which they have been accused. Because I know the disturbed homosexual mindset will accuse anyone they don't like of crimes that are fictitious. They are evil.

I repeat I don't think for a moment that Pope John Paul II thought Maciel was guilty. But I do think he thought the press could very well have been inciting the public to riot against the Church. And we should remember the disturbed homosexual bring wants to see the Church destroyed. I will always then err on the side of the Church.
