The way I see homosexuality:
Suppose a boy receives a box from his mother and father on his 16th birthday. With is is a card that reads:
This present is given to you as our parents have, through the generations, passed it to us. We hand it down to you with all our love. Take good care of it and pass it to you first born child. All our love,
Mom and Dad
The boy opens it and it is the most exquisitely crafted ring, done generations ago by the most gifted craftsman. Mounted on top is a radiant cut 3 carat diamond.
The boy tells himself, he isn’t into rings. They are too materialistic. He gives his parents a perfunctory thank you and without their knowledge, tosses the ring into the ocean.
The ring represents the gift of life.
You are right. How about the parents being interviewed; the possible priest being interviewed multiple times, a two day psychological exam, numberous letters of recommendcation from friends and priest who knew the person, and it goes on and on.
And Christ knew in advance that Judas would betray him, and he still chose him as one of the original twelve Apostles.
Isn’t what he said a very warm and embracing way of reversing what the Pope said in 2005?
Is that the point of view that you have been posting in support of homosexual priests since 2005, when Benedict signed his document?
When does Biden show up for his next communion?
One needs to distinguish between a homosexual who has already been ordained a priest and a candidate for the priesthood who is homosexual.
The official documents which say that homosexuals should not be ordained were not the topic of discussion at the press conference and they are still in force.
The interview was only a couple of days ago, and seems to be a different policy from the previous one.
It seemed to be a signal that this Pope sees the previous Pope’s refusal to accept homosexual priest students, as too harsh, this Pope even introduced calling them ‘gay’ it looks like.
This was an entirely different tone, and even a new vocabulary, it means something.
I wonder when people will look into what was said about divorce.
