Lavrov is 100% correct on this issue. Caliphate is taking shape with the destruction of nationalist and socialist regimes through the Middle East and North Africa by a single entity - a Muslim Brotherhood and it’s military wing aka Al-Qaeda.
No matter how nasty former regimes were, they were too different to form any kind of viable alliance and too weak on it’s own to effectively take on any Western power including Israel.
Not to mention all of these nationalist and socialist nations offered their citizens a rate of freedoms and opportunities unseen in any head-chopping Sharia counterparts and their leaders were responsible enough to keep out of serious collision with Western interests most of the time.
Let these bearded savages have another rather advanced nation and you will have another piece of their puzzle in place.
