If only this Protestant church just sent him to another church and shut up, oh wait, they’re cooperating with police.
If this had happened fifteen or twenty years ago, this church might very well have sought to cover it up as so many institutions did before the exposure of the problem within the Catholic Church.
I do not excuse the Church, but pedophilia was treated much differently just a couple of decades ago, just as homosexuality was considered a mental defect.
I praise this church for doing the right thing and pray that all churches and institutions where children are involved will follow suit, all because they have seen the devastation hiding it can cause, spiritually, psychologically and monetarily.
When I see this type of story, I can’t help but think that what God has done is what He said He will do.....Make all things good for those who love Him.
The sexual abuse scandal in the Church has exposed the sexual abuse rampant in all areas of society. It has been a brutal journey, but well worth it if the problem will be stopped and the perpetrators brought to justice.
