A Post-Christian Middle East?

(CNN) -- There have been Christians in the Middle East since the time of, well, Christ.

Now that two millennium-long history could be in danger.

Islamist thugs have attacked dozens of churches across Egypt in the past few days, burning many of them down.

The attacks seemed to be protests against the brutal military government crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood that killed many hundreds of Egyptian Islamists over the past week.

Pope Tawadros II, the leader of Egypt's Christian Copts, met publicly with top military officers as they announced the coup that removed President Mohamed Morsy and his Muslim Brotherhood government from power in early July.

To a very large extent this has been the result of US intervention in the region. The secular regimes of Iraq, Egypt, and Syria — though rotten to the core — were indifferent to the presence of Christians since their Scripture commands them not to be troublemakers (Romans 12:18, for example.)

US policy has either overturned these regimes outright or destabilized them such that they are overrun with Muslim theocrats. Islamic Republics cannot tolerate Christians in their midst, and that is just what US policy is arranging for. (It’s not just an Obama policy, either.)

For all intents and purposes, Christians in the Middle East (outside of Israel) face the same situation as did Jews in Germany about 1938.

It doesn’t matter how long they have lived there, how deep their “roots” go. The oppression and eventually open violence will likely only get worse. So what is the only sane advice?

Remaining where they are is not an option, no matter how much they want it. It doesn’t happen with the same tempo in different countries, but it all leads to the same end, which means fleeing from Arab country to Arab country only delays the inevitable.

We as a nation and as a people, have destroyed Christianity in it’s home.

I’m more worried about post-Christian America because it is coming.

First came Hitler’s pogrom against European Jews called the Holocaust. Now we have Obama’s war against Middle East Christians (or Holocaust II). Not surprisingly, the Media still talks about the first pogrom against the Jews, but they are totally mute about the second against Christians. Reason: they totally support it because they’re totally on board with what Dear Leader does. Obama — and his real brain, Valerie Jarrett — are closet Muslims and the MSM supports Islam against Western Civilization.

The good news is that the global south has been sending Christians to America.
