This reminds me of JP2 pleading with Bush not to attack Iraq. He told him exactly what would happen, that the country would thrown into turmoil for years to come and thousands of Coptic Christians would be murdered and the rest ran out of the country. Bush laughed at him. Mr. "I go work with war on my mind" Bush was bound and determined to start his own little war, the consequences be damned. Replace Junior Bush with Obozo. Replace Iraq with Syria. Replace WMDs with........well WMDs. And off to war we go for the "winner" of the Nobel "Peace" Prize. And once again, it makes absolutely no difference how many American will die or how many Syrians will die, and certainly makes no difference how many Christians will die. Barack O'Bush wants his own war and nothing will stop him from getting it. And all the worthless, sorry, braindead democrats that voted for him because he said he would "end the wars", will blindly follow over the cliff in Syria. The same group that crucified Bush for his warmongering.

I'm a bit late, but welcome to Free Republic, NKP_Vet. How long have you been a conservative?

Prayer for Peace in Syria

God of Compassion,
Hear the cries of the people of Syria,
Bring healing to those suffering from the violence,
Bring comfort to those mourning the dead,
Strengthen Syria’s neighbors in their care and welcome for refugees,
Convert the hearts of those who have taken up arms,
And protect those committed to peace.

God of Hope,
Inspire leaders to choose peace over violence and to seek reconciliation with enemies,
Inspire the Church around the world with compassion for the people of Syria,
And give us hope for a future of peace built on justice for all.

We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Prince of Peace and Light of the World,
Amen.

Petition: For the people of Syria, that God may strengthen the resolve of leaders to end the fighting and choose a future of peace.
