“We [Christians] find ourselves now – just in this short period of time - where the early Christians found themselves in the Roman Empire. So the church in 2,000 years, we started out as being a persecuted faith, with Constantine being an accepted established faith, then for centuries, kind of moving in that direction that had this close relationship between the secular world’s values and Judeo-Christian values,” Bishop Paprocki said. “And now I think we are moving in a direction that – not only is it more than secular – it’s a rejection. It’s an outright rejection [of Judeo-Christian values]. It’s a pagan kind of a culture.”

“The reality is that – ironically, it is becoming more like the Church was in the time of John Paul II in Poland under Communism where you [Christians] lived in a very hostile environment. We still have the First Amendment of our Constitution but that is being sorely tested. “

"Now, why am I mentioning these matters in the Democratic Party Platform? There are many positive and beneficial planks in the Democratic Party Platform, but I am pointing out those that explicitly endorse intrinsic evils. My job is not to tell you for whom you should vote. But I do have a duty to speak out on moral issues. I would be abdicating this duty if I remained silent out of fear of sounding "political" and didn't say anything about the morality of these issues. People of faith object to these platform positions that promote serious sins. I know that the Democratic Party's official "unequivocal" support for abortion is deeply troubling to pro-life Democrats. So what about the Republicans? I have read the Republican Party Platform and there is nothing in it that supports or promotes an intrinsic evil or a serious sin...."

Every bishop seems a wannabe politician. But hey! He’s not saying who to vote for, it’s just that one party is evil and the other isn’t.

This good Bishop lays another chink in the armor of those wicked politicians parading as Catholics, infesting the Church with a satanic version of the faith, scandalizing the faithful and making mockery of the Church. Reminds one of the our Lord on the Way of the Cross, and it’s meant for just that.

Why they are allowed to mock Christ in the Eucharist I’m sure I don’t know, but in so doing they heap hot coals on their head, reminding the faithful that the Enemy is always too near us.

No church can tell people WHO to vote for or they will lose their tax-free exemption.

The Catholic Church can speak to issues, but never endorse a candidate.

He’s saying what we want all bishops to say : that the Democratic Party has been taking Catholics for a ride down the road to perdition.

Ditto.
