Anyhow, about the mustard seed faith... sometimes I wonder if Jesus meant if the seed was allowed to grow, then it would become something that would “move mountains.” I’ve seen that happen in my spiritual life. The broader my faith, the more power it reaped, power to be sure that was focused on honest exaltation of the Lord. And often my faith didn’t need much help other than to concentrate on refraining from entertaining a constant inner grumble of skepticism.

All I’m saying is you have nothing to lose by throwing your faith open as wide as possible and don’t let your vision be limited to asking just little things, as long as those things are invested back in the Lord. Think, if your illness was gone quickly, what else would you go on to do? If your attention wasn’t focused just as squarely on God as it was before your illness was gone, then you’d have gone a spiritual step backwards, and God cares about that a lot because you’ll walk into heaven with that spirit. Think ahead to what happens if you get the victory. Be serious about that. Maybe you’d throw a big hallelujah party to the Lord and invite all your friends. Maybe there is some long and dearly held ministry vision you might undertake. Some way that you might thwart and flout demons that had long given you grief. Well, pray to the Lord that He might help you on to that step, and again to be exalted in it.

All this in the spirit of suggestions, not that if it doesn’t seem to do much that you had to have done something wrong. I’m not there with you and can’t get a sense for all the pertinent details.

Well I sure don’t want to lay a guilt trip on you, but at the same time I may have inadvertently lent myself to a situation where Satan laid his lies on you to that effect thick and heavy and if I did I sure regret it.

Sorry if I left you with the impression that you did that. I am beyond that at this point.

Long story, but God set me free from all that when He filled me with the Holy Spirit.

However, I will counter it whenever I encounter it and will warn others to be careful. It can be extremely destructive to someone who is new or weak in their faith.

One pastor I heard asked an interesting question. That is, in the situation of two women who go for prayer for healing for cancer and one gets healed and the other doesn't. Who has the greater faith? The one who was healed, or the one who wasn't but continues on following the Lord and loving Him and serving Him anyway?

Gotta go. Long weekend ahead of me and I won't be on FR much if at all till Sunday night.

Best advice I can give someone who you meet who's dealing with a physical affliction is to say only two things.

1) If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

2) I'll be praying for you.

It's a pretty good bet that there's nothing new you'll be telling them. Likely they've heard it all at that point, especially if it's been going on for years.

So pray for me.

Later.....

God healed me from MRSA, almost exactly a year ago. He told me He did as I was reading Psalm 30.

And so I was able to step out in faith when I went off the antibiotics and do it without fear that the infection would return or would progress to C-diff.

I am now physically in better shape than I had been for a long time.

I KNOW He can do it. Just waiting for the *when*

God has done an amazing work in me through it.

It’s been a long battle but worth it in how I’ve grown spiritually.

Good night, again....

You got a small victory there and that’s worth great praise to Him.

I have a soul sense that when the Lord has you poised to come out of your illness glorifying the Lord more than when you were in it... that’s when God’s going to open that door for you. Be ready for it if and when it happens. Sometimes God has to let you build up a strong head of anticipation before you are ready to go through that door.
