Freedom from religion.

Some folks think that's in the Constitution.

Most US officials are into beheading infidels instead.

is is a ritual that has no obligation for any Jew to do,” Klein said.

Interesting comment.

Nowadays it is common to substitute money wrapped in white cloth for the chicken. In this way Jews can participate in the custom without bringing harm to an animal.

I wonder if these officials ever visited a chicken killing operation of a chicken meat packing plant.

Just another way of government to "control" religion in the US. Now if the mussies had the same ritual imagine the hue and cry of anti-islam they'd hear. (yes, I know those words should be cap's but I wouldn't give them the satisfaction)

Well, libs are losing the battle on circumcision, so now they’re going after chicken swingers. Typical.

I’m most concerned that the chicken would defecate while being whirled overhead.

“Swing the chicken and please my god!”

This has comedy and tragedy all over it.

Where is the Biblical basis for this?

This is a totally humane way to give thanks to God and the chicken for it’s life and nurishment.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and we use to kill our chickens and rabbits.

We took great care to kill the animals quickly, efficiently, calming them before the act, so as not to spoil the meat.

It pained us greatly when we didn’t get it right the first time, which was rare.

In the case of the rabbits we would pet the rabbits and when they were calm wold take them by their hind quarters, hang them upside down and again calm them.

When they were finally calmed whoever was the henchman would use the Louisville Slugger #36 with great force downward and accurately.

This would kill the animal instantaly and the blood would let and no thrashing taking place as the animal was dead.

Personally, I never understood why people hang and animal upside down when gutting and skinning and gutting.

We hung it with the head up and let gravity help us out.

Dunno makes more sense to me.

Same thing with skinning fish. Most people will gut it and scrape it, which is fine if you are going to cook the whole of it. But, most just want the flesh for baking or frying and it made more sense to decapitate it, cut the meat from the top of the spine along the ribs and turning it over to repeat.

From there it’s simple to remove the innards and then cut what’s left in half.

If you need to skin it that’s simple enough but, when it comes to trout or small scale fish I just leave it on and eat the whole thing.

Of course with catfish or largemouth it’s probably best to remove it.

Yo Dos Centavos...

Read the old testament. Animal sacrifice was done on a regular basis. But hey this is California where anyone can do abortions now. So it’s okay to kill unborn babies, but don’t touch the chickens,

When i was about six years old my mother would just twirl the chicken and off would come its head, that scared the hell out of me so i used an axe and a chop block.

“This is a ritual that has no obligation for any Jew to do,” Klein said. “I think Kaparot as a concept is wonderful, but when it involves using chickens, and it causes mass slaughter then we have a real problem, and it’s a problem for the whole community.”

If this is their religious practice, then leave them alone. It's not like we don't kill billions of chickens every single year.

The government has no business telling them how to conduct their religion until they start sacrificing people, the way liberals do babies.

ancient ritual in which a person swings a live chicken overhead three times and recites a prayer.

Soooo... Anyone who has killed a chicken grabs them by the feet and whips them around a few times before setting the head on the chopping block - it settles the bird, it is dizzy and disoriented, so it is still on the block for a moment, and the killing blow can be administered accurately...

So what is the terrible difference in this ritual, the prayer?

We live a little north west of there and were on the way home that weekend. Protesters passed out fliers and this was before this made national news.
One protester was I think a Korean eating a dog sandwich protesting the killing of chickens.

Meanwhile California attempts to allow nurses only to abort babies. So our policy will be national outrage over dead chickens, but far more access to slaughter human babies.
Warped world IMO.

First they wanted to stop circumcision. Now they want to stop chicken flicking. We are on a slippery slope. The next big libtard campaign is going to be very sharp knife control.

I can see it now:

I have no objection to using knives for legitimate culinary purposes, such as spreading peanut butter on bread or carving turkeys on Thanksgiving. I enjoy watching those sushi chefs do their stuff. But when it comes to ritual mutilation of perfectly good penises, or slaughtering innocent birds, or gangland fights, we have to draw the line somewhere, and we already outlawed guns (we didn’t do that yet? oh, damn. I’m premature).

Our U.S. Constitution guarantees the rights of human beings—not animals. Any who don’t like the law of our land should go back to the Europe that their families came from so recently.

I’m not Jewish, but...

If you (the reader) want moral self-improvement, don’t eat flesh torn or cut from a living animal, but don’t rob or persecute people by way of the animal rights pretense or any other false accusation, false implication, gossip or implied exaggeration. That kind of robbery precedes punishment for the whole world of nations (all) with exceptions for only a very few people.
