"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"

Yep. 100% true.

There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God" - Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190

Yep. 100% true.
Jesus Himself has decreed that no matter what you claim to believe, if you reject the servant you reject the master who sent him. If you reject the true prophets of God you will never enter the kingdom of God who sent the prophets.

Every source you quoted is 100% correct. [posted by Elsie from LDS writings]

Interesting you describe it as spam, the teachings of the LDS belief system of which you appear to be a proud member.

...really? Try to imagine that I was describing the way it was posted and not the writing themselves.

So you have difficulty accepting the writings of the savior touted in Mormonism, Joseph Smith?

I've often wondered what it must have been like for the apostles that traveled with Jesus to watch the Pharisees try to trick Jesus up with stupid logic. Have you ever wondered that?

You gonna pass by him when you die? I think you most certainly will...

With all my heart I hope I do. BTW, do you have a problem with Peter standing guard at the pearly gates?

Thank you very much for the honesty to answer those questions from your LDS belief system.

Except this one:

So you have difficulty accepting the writings of the savior touted in Mormonism, Joseph Smith?
I wasn't trying to trick you, perhaps I worded the question wrong.

Here's another part of Mormon teachings that I would appreciate you commenting upon:

Do you agree with those teachings?

The seem to go along with what President Hinckley said at LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7:

"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak..."
I've often thought that when I see a Mormon give their testimony including "my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" if they mean the Jesus of the Bible or the one of the LDS belief system.

If they truly believe in all the official teachings of their belief system, they must mean their Mormon jesus.

But it always looks like they mean the Jesus of the Bible.

In which case, they are believing in a Jesus that is not the one of Mormonism.

If that is so, I always wonder why they don't just become Christians. (disclaimer: Mormons for the longest time distanced themselves from being called "Christians" but I have noticed in the last few decades they have embraced the title of Christian.)

Oh and considering Peter standing guard at the pearly gates?

Nothing in the Bible substantiates that, it is just a pretty much assumed "fact" by many, perhaps because of the position given Peter by Rome.

Christians go to heaven to meet Jesus, not to be greeted by Peter or to "pass by" Smith who BTW will not be standing there.
