SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has recently undergone a big transition and tonight hopes the church will accept her for who she says she is.

Leahnora Isaak was born a man, was ordained in the priesthood, but now wants the church to recognize her as a woman.

“I knew at four years old that I was female,” she said.

Up until last spring, Leahnora was known as Bob, a husband, father and priesthood holder.

“I felt that being Bob I was a cross-dresser I felt that weaning male clothing was the wrong clothing for me,” Leahnora said.

In May, she and her wife divorced and she came from Ohio to Salt Lake City where she marched in the Salt Lake Pride parade and officially became Leah.

“I took off my male clothing and never put it on again, I have never represented as male since that time,” she said.

Now living in Portland, Oregon, Leahnora attends church regularly. She said leaders allow her to attend priesthood meetings as a woman.

I certainly don't support this type of behavior, but it is interesting to see the change among the LDS view. How long until they start condoning gay marriage in the temple?

And for those who say they won't, giving blacks the priesthood started the same way.

Can't tell from the article if s/he has had the sex change operation yet.

If not yet, then we have an Obamacare winner.

Yes, I feel like I am really a multi-billionaire. I felt it when I was 3 years old. Without billions and billions of dollars, I feel like a cross-classer. I truly belong in the very highest economic class, and I demand that I be put there and treated as such.

I am what I thought I was!

I’m not surprised. LDS’s whole history has been one of constantly rewriting their scriptures to be less bizarre and less objectionable.

So LDS caving in to pressure on moral issues to be more acceptable doesn’t surprise me at all.

My eyes are burning. And by “burning”, I mean “smoking, bubbling, melting and running down my face”.

What will Bob do when he finds out that he’s not just more feminine than most men but also more feminine than most women?

But will she ever gets a Temple Recommend again?

Didn’t Mormons support the gay scout leader policy?

Didn’t Mormons support the gay scout leader policy?

To summarize the findings on a thread last summer, Mormons are the single largest supporter of the BSA. Every LDS ward in the country sponsors an average of three and and half BSA troops each, more than triple the sponsorships of the second-largest BSA supporter.
