Amnesty International has said the response to a call for submissions to the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry demonstrates how much the investigation was needed. Almost 400 people have contacted the inquiry set up to examine child abuse in Catholic and state-run homes in Northern Ireland.

the catholic church should just ask for advice from the jewish community. they must be doing something right, because I have never seen even one case ever reported in the media of a rabbi charged with abuse.

If that statement were true, it would not be a meretricious, malicious, wrong-headed attack on Catholics.

It took almost 10 years to track down the serial pederast priest principal of my HS. He used a club for promising seminary candidates to abuse teenaged boys. A local beat reporter finally tracked him down. Most of the cases were settled with hush money. The parents were informed of his removal and that he would receive a station where he would not interact with children and teens. A few years later the beat reporter published an article and then received multiple calls telling the reporter that they thought the priest was in their parish. Sure enough he was placed in an upscale Long Island parish where he interacted with children. Simply amazing.
