Many of the Orthodox Catholics reunited with Rome after the 1960's decision to allow the Mass to be said in the vernacular. No reason to stay away, since LATIN was not to be the language of the Mass any more.

The Russian Orthodoxy never did reunite. I wonder if this is the opening of reunification...

I sincerely doubt it.

There remain any number of quite significant differences between the Orthodox churches and the Roman Catholic Church.

cloud, hope for Church unity is important ... first step ... but 85 other steps need to follow.

Why? The Catholics & Orthodox cannot recognize a unity that does not exist. And nobody is going to change their religious dogma unless their beliefs have really changed.

yes, this is important.
