Take it up with the CDF. I just quoted from them.
To be candid, I neither know nor care what LDS believe.
“
1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.”
Incredibly dishonest response to the statement “Mormons hold that there is no real Trinity.” The doctrine of the Trinity, implicit in the name, is that there are three persons but only one God. Not three separate gods, nor one God playing different roles, but a Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, co-eternal, and almighty.
Mormonism is henotheism, which is polytheism with a focus on a central deity, or, at least, the deity that rules planet Earth.
This is contrary to all scripture, and damnable heresy.
Isa_43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
“Christ paid for this for all people. “
This is ignorance of what the doctrine of Original Sin even means. Obviously, Christ did not vanquish our sin nature, which will always be present until after we have died. As Paul himself, who lamented of his sins, testifies.
And that TWO of these have bodies of FLESH.
--LDS, Inc. teaching.
Mormons deny that Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost are one God. The Bible is clear that there is only one God, not many gods (in many universes).
Before me was no god formed. Neither shall there be after me. I, even, I am The Lord, and beside me there is no savior. (Isaiah 43:10b,11)
For there is one god. And one mediator between god and men, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time (1 Timothy 2:5)
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (2 Timothy 3:16)
For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given. And the government shall be on his shoulder. His name shall be Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6),
In John 8:24 Jesus warns against unbelief: "I said therefor unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then they said unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus smith unto them, Even the same that I said unto from the beginning." (See Isaiah 43:10a)
Jesus is God, the only God there is. He, the Father and the Holy Ghost are one. (1 John 5;7). Unless you realize this, that he is the first and the last, the beginning and end, the only God there is and the only God that can save, you shall die in your sins (as Jesus warns) and spend all eternity in the lake of fire as Revelation 14:10,11 and 20:14,15 and 21:8 clearly indicate.
To be saved one must place their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, then he will be saved. Works do not save or keep one saved (God's gift by grace through faith is irrevocable -- once a son, always a son -- He will never leave of forsake His own.
Mormons believe in a different God--a different Jesus, a different Father and different Holy Ghost. Their false gospel is damning many to hell.
Galatians 1:6-9
No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under Gods curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under Gods curse!
No, the LDS do not believe in the Christian trinity, you believe in three full separate beings, all with divine powers, ergo are polytheist. Christianity is monotheistic.
There is no valid counter argument to be made, it is your scriptures and your belief, walks hand in hand with becoming gods yourselves. You cannot have it both ways.
